Sounds like the compressor unit has gone out. It will need to be replaced. When you call somebody to come out and fix it, make sure its a company that is trusted and bonded. Call around and get estimates.

The cold control needs replacing. Thats the knob with the numbers that turn the Ref OFF and ON.
What I do is call my local Appliance Parts Store with my model no. They are extremely helpful .
Get freezer and ref thermometer. Ref is probably too cold.
Freezer should be 0 to 10 degrees. Ref 33 to 35

2...you are puting food in that is warm or not covered and its the condensation from these that collects on the shinny surface of the salad drawer.....
remember,every time you open the door warm air from the kitchen replaces the cold air inside the fridge,it does not dry the air like a dehumidifier....
hence water droplets gather.....

Ok there is a drain pan under the evap. coil under the fan that may be clogged and full of ice there is a 3/4" hole the water drains out of that needs cleared if there is a puddle of ice over it , the ice will also effect the airflow traveling down the duct to the fresh food section of the unit.
If there is no ice puddle at the bottom of the refrigerator then make sure the unit is cooling well by making sure it has been running for 10 min. or so and checking the coil in the freezer , it should have a small layer of frost on it showing its getting cold the whole way through it. Let me know how this works.

My husband left the freezer door open a couple of months ago, causing ice to form. The loud rattling noise was the fan hitting the ice. The reason why the temperature started to rise but the noise stopped was because the fan had got stuck in a block of ice and was no longer working. Simple solution - defrost the freezer for 24 hours. Touch wood, it is all working fine now!

You will need a service call for diagnosis and repair. It could be a faulty thermistor (electronic temperature sensor), or it is low on refrigerant gas and needs a top up. Gas is the most likely reason.
