Try to clean out the insides of the unit, includinig use of compressed air in a spray can.

Often the photo-sensors get blocked by paper dust, and they no longer give accurate readings, which then prevents using the printer.

Remove the paper stack and the ink cartridges first.

Carefully blow out everything inside the printer.

When done, try to use the printer again. It should work now.

Cheers.

Printer Carrier Stall

You may have had a foriegn object fall inside the printer such as a pen or paper clip. You may also have a broken sensor which enables the carraige to move to the centre when the lid is open. You can try and carefully move the carraige over manually when the printer is turned off to see if there is something blocking its path. If the sensor is broken you can replace the cartridges by moving the carraige over when turned off.

It only shows drivers for PC's and not macs.

How do I scan using

First, you have to make sure that the "Dell All-In-One Center" (software that came with the printer) is installed properly in your computer.

Then follow the steps below:

1 Turn on your computer and printer, and make sure they are connected.
2 Place the document face down on the scanner glass and make sure the upper left
corner of the front of the document aligns with the arrow on the printer. For more
information, see "Placing Your Document on the Scanner Glass" on page 21.
3 Press Scan on the operator panel.
The Dell All-In-One Center appears.
4 In the Send scanned image to: drop-down menu, select a program as your scan
destination.
5 Customize your scan settings.
6 Click Scan Now to complete your scan.

Aside from the Dell Center, there's no additional software needed to use the scanner. If it's still giving you an error, try to disconnect the printer/scanner from the computer.

Turn the printer off for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on. Re-connect to the computer.

If same problem occur, contact the manufacturer.

Thank you and good luck!

My printer prints no color and streaks

This sounds like the nozzles are clogged. The chances are that you are using aftermarket or refilled cartridges and the ink is not up to manufacturer specifications. The easiest solutiion is to insert new OEM cartridges, run the cleaning utility at least 3x, the alignmnet process and a test page. If the nozzles were clogged they should be cleared by this procedure.
Be careful with aftermarket inks. If you can, take the cartridges back to the vendor and get replacements or a refund.
Let me know if this procedure clears the problem.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Make sure the paper is loaded correctly and you are using recommended paper. Always use a smaller amount of paper when printing multiple pages. The paper should not be damp, wrinkled, torn or damaged. Make sure the paper is against the right side of the paper support and the paper guide rests against the left edge of the paper. Check for any piece of paper stuck inside the printer because the crooked feed and then jam could be caused by a foreign object inside your printer. Unplug it, turn it upside down and see if anything falls out. If the paper jam is located in the paper support, turn off the printer and firmly grasp the paper and gently pull it from the printer. Now turn on the printer and print the document again. If the paper jam is not visible, turn off the printer. Lift the printer unit and position the scanner support between the tabs to keep it open and gently pull the paper from the printer. Close the printer and turn it on and print the document again.

If still the issue is not resolved then unplug the printer and clean the carriage rail with a moist paper towel. Now get the cartridges in the middle and move them to one side and clean and then move them to the other side and clean. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

I CAN'T SCAN TO E-MAIL

support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/PRN922/en/OM/922_en.pdf
Above is your user manual.

OK, usually, when you scan, it is best to scan to a Document, then "Attach" it to the Email, Also you MUST ensure you have installed BOTH, the Scanner & Printer, software, as well as a Scan manager too.
You see when you scan, it usually Saves the file as a Picture file. JPG. Now a lot of people cannot open a picture file, and usually expect a .DOC, .DOCX or PDF, The BEST format for sending word & Picture type files, is in the PDF format. After you have scanned what you want, simply save it as whatever name you wish, then Compose, A new Email, and Attach, the scanned document to the email, and send it.
www.scantopdf.co.uk/scantopdf-downloads.html
appzportable.blogspot.com/.../portable-vuescan-professional-edition.html
OK these above two links, are for ScantoPDF, and Vuescan, a driverless scanning program.
Also, when you wish to scan with the native software, you must allocate which Email Client you wish to use, this is often where it all comes unstuuck. So as I prior related, please Scan, and save as a Word, document, when the scanner is installed properly, you can scan anything you want, by using INSERT PICTURE from SCANNER. Or by saving as a PDF. Download those two programs and email away.

When printing a document on printer it prints a

Sounds like a bad ink cartridge. The ink is probably clogged up in the print head where the ink comes out of the cartridge. You should either bring it back to where you purchased it for a replacement, or you can try priming the ink.

To prime the ink:
1. Get a wet paper towel
2. Get a dry paper towel
3. Take the bad ink out of your printer
4. Move the ink back and forth from the wet towel to the dry towel touching the print head (part on cartridge where the ink comes out) to the towel.
5. You should begin to see the ink come out in a higher consistency

This will help unclog any ink stuck in the pores of the print head. If that doesn't work, you may need to get a replacement from where you purchased it.

Hope this helps :)

States "Right Cartridge incorrect"

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Printer A10922 will only print in black. Color

  1. Check that your color cartridge/toner is not empty or blocked.
This is the least likely cause of the problem, but an important check to make. Most color printer drivers and/or software provide functions to verify alignment and color output. Consult your manual or open your printer driver by clicking Start : Settings : Printers and right-click on your printer's icon and select Properties. 'Browse' the Properties dialog for options that perform system checks.
  2. Look for a 'Print only Black and White' option.
Open your printer driver's Properties dialog (see above) and look for a color option that uses black only. Uncheck it or select an option that enables color. Some color printers have different resolutions for color and black-and-white (usually higher resolution in black-and-white). Some applications (not Origin) will force a printer to use a quality mode that affects this option, and if the resolution is forced to its highest the color output may be disabled.
  3. Enable gray scale printing.
Some combinations of printers and operating system versions can lead to a miscommunication between Origin and a printer driver. Under these circumstances, Origin may 'think' it is dealing with a black-and-white printer when it is actually using a color printer. Beginning with 6.1, the Origin Print dialog displayed one of two messages depending on the print capabilities read by Origin:
    1. Enable color as gray scale
This check box displays for color printers
    2. Use simplified colors
This check box displays for black-and-white printers
If you are seeing the first checkbox and you are using a color printer, then checking the box should tell Origin to send all color information and let the printer handle any conversions that may come up. In earlier versions of Origin there was a rather cryptic "Print color on black and white printers" checkbox which did the same thing.

Too much red

I'm assuming that the colour cartridge is a three in one. Blue, Yellow and Magenta.

When printing a colour document, the printer automatically balances colour mixtures from the three primary colours listed above. Should a print out be too red, its probably because its run out of yellow and/blue.

The best way to check is to print out a test page, you should get a block for each of the colours and black. If one's missing, there's your answer.
