Just plug it in and see if Windows recognizes it. If your OS is 32-bit you could also try the Dell Vista 32-bit driver

Ensure that the printer power cable is firmly connected to the printer and the electrical outlet
Determine if the printer has been held or paused

1. In Windows XP, click Start® Settings® Printers and Faxes.

In Windows 2000, click Start® Settings® Printers.

1. Double-click Dell Photo AIO Printer 922, and then click Printer.
2. Make sure a check mark is not next to Pause Printing. If a check mark is next to Pause Printing, click Pause Printing to deselect it.

Check for flashing lights on the printer.
Ensure you installed the ink cartridges correctly and removed the sticker and tape from each cartridge

Most All in ones you use a software program that came with it to scan. So you want to check for the cd that came with the scanner, this has a software piece that will run on the computer thus the scanner can be used.

The software should be a image studio software. Let me know if you got the disc so I can help you further.

That is not very much information to go on. So you can try cleaning it.

Turn on the hot water until warm
Put about 1/2 inches of water in a cup
Put the print head portion (where the ink comes out) in for about a minute
Dry off the cartridge using a soft tissue.
Re-insert the cartridge into the printer.
Run the normal cleaning software routine a few times

check the paper feeder if have a foreign object.. you must disassemble the unit to see the paper feeder clearly.

Go to www.dell.com and visit customer support, driver downloads.

Check to see if the installed cartridge is the correct one for the printer. If the cartridge is the proper part number, remove the ink cartridge and make sure all the packaging tape has been removed from the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge. Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again.

If the error continues, remove the cartridge again and clean the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge, and the contacts inside the printer, by following the instructions below:

1. Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Locate the copper-colored circuitry strip on the back of the cartridge.

2. Wipe the copper-colored strip with the dry cloth. Use an upward motion, from the nozzle end to the top of the cartridge. Do not wipe the nozzle end of the cartridge or touch the nozzle plate. Wipe the contacts only once.

3. To clean the printer contacts, carefully look for fibers or contamination on the electrical contacts inside the carriage assembly, but do not wipe the printer contacts with any object. The contacts in the printer can be damaged if too much pressure is applied during a wiping process. Try to remove any visible attached debris within the carriage assembly by gently pulling the debris off with your fingers. If the carriage contacts show noticeable damage, contact the Customer Care Center listed in the printer's User's Guide.

Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again. If the error continues, the cartridge may need to be replaced.

you have to download and reinstall the driver cause the software that operates it ...may be corrupted or so..
There is the possibility that only the short cut to be deleted fromn the desktop ...so ..take a look into all programs and see if you find the software in there ..if not ..go to Dell support and download all software related with the device ..and run them again ..This will fix the issue if the device is functional 100%

From what I sow on the site ..this will only operate n XP cause it does not have any drivers for vista or windows 7

Download and run this patch (a MUST with Vista machines) to completely remove the printer from your computer. Run the patch until it prompts you to restart your computer.

You have to install the printer drivers. Click here to download the driver for DELL A922. Select the driver file according to your Operating System (e.g. Windows XP). After downloading the file, just double click it and follow the on-screen instruction. This will install the printer and you would be able to print.

Remove your printer from the PC and un-install the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the installed software must be removed off/uninstalled before the new one will be installed.

Make sure during this time that the printer is taken out and CONNECTED ONLY after the software is installed. The PC will automatically detect and install the new hardware.

A couple of things to consider:
Have you install the printer in one of the computer correctly?
Are you sharing that computer on your network?
Are you sure the two computers are connected? (can you see the shared folders of each other?)

If not, then you must do that before being able to print.
If you did, then:
Did you ADD the shared printer from one computer to the other?
If you did,
Have you select that shared printer as your default printer?

After you check all this points, you must be able to print from either one.

You have to open the scanning place the picture face down, and plress SCAN. This will bring on the Dell All-In-One Center. Click Preview Now and adjust the dotted line aroung your picture. On send scanned image to drop down menu select the program you want to use for the picture. If the program you want to use is not listed, select Search for more... in the drop-down menu. On the next screen, click Add to locate and add your program to the list. Hit Scan Now and you're done.

Check the Dell support site; you may need a new driver. Most companies do support their products with updated drivers for several years after production has ended.

Its usually better not fill up your cartridges completely ti the brim. About 3 - 4 ml at a time should do. Or observe the body of the cartridge for any volume indicated on it. If it is 4ml you may put in about 3 ml etc.
