Lexmark X4270 gives an error message...black cartridge missing. It is not missing. what is the problem

Make sure you are using genuine Lexmark black cartridge. Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled, re-manufactured or clone cartridges. You might not get the print quality you expect from ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark.Try to reinsert your black cartridge and make sure it is properly seated in the cartridge carrier. If error comes back up right after placing it in the printer, then it could be a faulty cartridge. Try to replace it with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge. If you are already using a genuine Lexmark cartridge, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

Black Cartriddge missing

Try taking out both cartridges from your printer. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds. When the printer turns on, re-insert your color cartridge then close the cover. If no error appears, re-insert your black cartridge. If error still appears, then it could be a faulty cartridge. It would be best to replace it with a new cartridge, preferably a genuine one. Lexmark products work best when original supplies are used.

I have a lexmark 420 seris all in one fax/copy/printer

Could be many different issues... was it working before? Or is this a new setup? Any error codes or blinking lights? Dialing out correctly with extension? Did you try unplugging power for a minute then reconnecting it? This will often send it into self-check routine.

Message-P.C cannot communicate with printer

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection. If that doesn't help, try the steps below: 1. Disconnect the printer from your computer. 2. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds. 2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. 3. Delete the Lexmark print object. 4. Reboot your pc. 5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer. 6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed. You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/gKXn7F. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.

Printer shows job in progress so cannot uninstall

Make sure there are no print jobs stuck in the print queue so you can successfully uninstall the printer from your computer. You can try this approach:

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)

2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

4. Double click the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.

When the print queue is cleared, try to uninstall again.

I hope this helps. Thanks.

User_Manual lexmark 5320

The 1203 error indicates a problem with one of the cartridges. Please follow the steps below to identify and fix the problem:

1. Make sure the printer is on.

2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.

Note: If the carrier does not automatically move to the center, turn off the printer/unplug the printer from the power source and then slide the carrier to the center.

3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.

4. Close the printer cover.

5. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first.

7. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.

8. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.

9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new cartridge.
