Need help removing the LCD reflective panel on CASIO ex z750..

Hi,

you will need to undo the screws that hold the external casing, and then the four screws that retain LCD. Before removing LCD, disconnect the ribbon cable from camera board.

Screws should be ;
Two screws located on the LCD hinge, two are located nearby outside the hinge..
Two screws on each side of the support mount, at the bottom
One is located on bottom side of the lens, since you need to remove the LCD, leave this as last one, it may be not necessary to remove this one.
Two are inside the flash assembly.
two on the grip side
one inside the Dc in socket.
two near to the strap.

I think I have listed them all.

This is how camera will look after:

If you need more detailed pictures you can purchase the complete service manual for a small fee.

Here is the manual on Ebay.

Here manual for Z850 from third party. The case and display assembly is the same. Fee is the same as the manual on Ebay. I published this link in case you do not want to use Ebay. Z750 is only available on Ebay.

Regards.

My cam said the card is locked but it isnt locked!

There's a small switch inside the memory card reader of the camera which tells the camera that the card lock switch is on or off. Most likely it's bent or broken. You can try to push it with a needle or something (it's on one side of the card reader) but I'm afraid you will have to give it to a local repair shop.
I work for a camera service center authorized by Casio.

Stuck with lens out. Won't respond

if ur very sure that the battery is fully charged... first we would advice you to change the batteries and see ...... if that doesnt work... the battery contacts may be corroded or bent and hence not making correct contact with the battery
.... sometimes there cud be dust or sand particles in the lens retraction passage... blow out air in those places..... this cud help a great deal.... I was able to fix a similar problem by wiggling the outermost part of the lens.as its trying to go in....
also try Place the camera flat on its back on a table, pointed at the ceiling. Press and hold the shutter button down, and at the same time press the power-on button. The idea is that the camera will try to autofocus while the lens is extending, hopefully seating the lens barrel guide pins in their slots.
if that doest help
Remove the batteries, then remove the memory card. Then install the new batteries, when you turn it on it should come back to life. turn it off, slip in the memory card and turn it on one last time.
if that doesnt help

Insert the cameras Audio/Video (AV) cable, and turn the camera on. Inserting this cable ensures that the camera's LCD screen remains off during the start process. Thus extra battery power is available to the camera's lens motor during startup. This extra power can be useful in overcoming grit or sand particals that may be jamming the lens. If the AV cable doesn't fix the lens error by itself, consider keeping this cable installed while trying the above fixes and 7 as a means to provide extra help to these fixes. But note that I DON'T recommend keeping the cable installed during Fix 6 as you may damage the AV port while tapping the camera. Reinsert the cable only AFTER tapping the camera.

Now we're entering into the realm of potentially damaging your camera in conducting the fix. There is definitely some risk here, so take care when conducting the following two fixes.
Fix #6: Repeatedly tap the padded/rubber usb cover on a hard surface with the intent of dislodging any particles that may be jamming the lens. Other variations include hitting a side of the camera against the palm of your hand. A lot of people have reported success with this method. HOWEVER, there is also some potential for damaging or dislodging internal components with this method, such as unseating ribbon cables, or cracking LCD screens.

Fix #7: Try forcing the lens. More people have reported success with this method than with any of the other methods. HOWEVER, there's obviously some potential for damaging your camera by using this method. Variations include gently pulling, rotating, and/or twisting the lens barrel while hitting the power button. Attempt to gently straighten or align the barrel if it's crooked or twisted. Another variation includes looking for uneven gaps around the lens barrel, and then pushing on the side of the lens barrel that has the largest gap (note pushing the lens barrel all the way in is NOT recommended as it may become stuck there). While doing any of the above, listen for a click that indicates that the lens barrel guide pins may have reseated in their guide slots. If you hear this click, immediately stop and try the camera.

My casio EX-Z750 won't come on or do anything.

Clean the contacts on the battery AND the camera. Use a pencil eraser to rub them well. Use a dental pick to pull up on the contacts so that they are springier and make better contact.

Just to make sure, try another battery. Your old battery might test well but have a memory and only provide a "surface charge"

Photos taken on zoom have white horizontal lines

Hi!
It sounds like that the shutter cable inside lens is partially broken. It moves with the lens while it zooms, so it could loose contact while stretched - when you have zoomed the lens. Z750 and Z850 have this problem with shutter cable - it breaks. The white horizontal lines are because shutter doesn't work. I'm afraid the cable will brake soon and pictures will be too bright with white horizontal lines even at normal zoom. It is considered a hard repair - the shutter part or whole lens unit has to be changed. You can contact your local Casio service center and ask the price, but it will probably be very high. I work in a Casio service center and new lens for this camera costs about 250$. It's not a good idea to put on used lens or shutter, as it will brake again sometime - it's just a matter of time. I suggest you get another camera.

Hope this helps!

I have a replacement screen and wondered if anyone has a guide?

There are only 2 or 3 cameras for each screen. Check with virtual village dot com. They have a good cross reference.

Look at it closely. The connector should snap open to allow the new cable to be laid into place. If you try soldering, you will most likely short out the cable or burn a component on the board.

Low resolution pictures from my Casio Exlim EX-Z750

Depending on what you're photographing, you can sometimes put it on micro mode (the super zoom mode). Whether or not you can do this, you should definintly bump it into fine or best quality, the more memory the picture takes up the better.

Ideal camera for uses like this would be one around 10 megapixels, this is the most that you should need unless you plan on blowing the pictures up very much larger than 8x10.
