Repairman needed. If it was like this when he "fixed" the convergence issue, the job was obviously not completed.

Unless you are familiar with TV systems, this is best left to a professional. Rear projection systems typically use three separate image sources (red, green and blue) to display the picture. If any of these sources is misaligned, the convergence problem arises. It may be something as simple as a bump while transporting it or some loose screws but given the voltages in the back of TV systems, it is much safer to get a TV engineer to make the proper adjustments for you.

THE instructions tell everything you will need and the best way to get at the two STK-392-110 CHIPS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED.

Repair involves getting at and replacing both chips, it does involve being able to solder--not hard on this set.

The black parts are the chips, this is Hitachi but EXACT SAME TWO CHIPS ARE USED.

The model listed is only HD (if it has that) via the HD component input on the rear---it may only have one HD input.

If we are talking about change where it looks 3d or words etc are outlined in red or blue that is convergence--have some more info for me?

The three blink is the error code for short protection. The blue 2.2 ohm resistor is tied to the convergence chips in near it: STK-392-110.

Both chips and the burnt or discolored resistor will have to be replaced.

Check your hori out put transistor NTE2973 & 1200pf & 2kv capacitor next to it,most of the time this is what is bad .

COUNT THE BLINKS.

3 BLINKS AND A PAUSE AND 3 BLINKS IS MOST COMMON.

5 BLINKS AND A PAUSE AND 5 BLINKS IS ALSO COMMON.

let me know the error code (blinks) and I will tell you what it means.
