I can't manually set sony rptv, colors way off
a SOLUTION is that someone is going to have to replace both the STK392-560 CONVERGENCE chips this set uses, there are a few other parts around them that can fail but for the most part just the two chips need to be replaced and the set adjusted, parts are fairly cheap but it takes some soldering skills to do this repair.
I can tell you where to find the parts etc but what is your skill level ???
Let me know, I can step you through the repair and I also have skype IM if needed.

You need to replace the convergence IC's in the set. Part number STK 392-560. Two of them. They have to be unsoldered and solder in new ones. You must have advanced experience to get the job done. I suggest you get a TV technician.

What exactly did you repair? Some fixes on line dont delve into the cause why the component failed. usually if a component fails just replacing that component wont fix the set unless you diagnose what caused that item to fail. Let me know what you fixed and I should be able to help you out with the problem.

Tv wont come on light flashes 3 times
When the standby/lamp indicator lamp flashes 3 times, this is an error code that generally means the set has detected a B+ overvoltage protection condition. some common causes of this are faulty ic's (intergrated cuircits) 500 and or ic 5002 these are both located on g board and generally i would replace this board. the last repair i did of this type ran the customer around 275 depending on cost of part.
My TV (module # KP-57WS500)
Projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both. Repair kits with instructions are also avail from www.TvRepairKits.com
Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out
Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Is the picuture tube messed
That usually means your convergence ics are going out. Replacing those will get rid of the double imageing. If the color is faded realy bad that means your tubes are going bad. That repair is pretty costly. Tvs over ten years are usually money pits.
