How do i replace and set up a new hard drive
Physical replacement is not hard. Just make sure you buy the correct new hard drive - sata/ide. Connect it the same way the older drive was connected. 1 connector for power, 1 connector for communication, nowadays usually sata. And you're done. After that it's operating system installation time. Most likely from a dvd/cd-rom drive. Most of operating systems now install quite easy next/next/next/default/licence key/next/next... I do suggest you get someone to help you install operating system anyway.

If you want to use VOIP (voice over internet protocol), you'll need cable, dsl or faster connection, a router, and hardware to plug the phone into the router or a USB connection, such as that available through the Magicjack.
Skype and some others use your computer speakers and microphone, so you don't need an adapter.
You need to study the subject more before deciding what route to take.

There is a thin connector power cord and interface cords with tge same width connectors. The existing hard drive has thes cables connected to it. Connect one power cord and one data interface cable to the cd drive. Connect the audio cable to the cd drive and the Audio IN connector on the motherboard.
Unless the motherboard has a ide connector. you can not use your old hard drive or cd. You can get a external drive encloser that can convert IDE to USB
