Technics SE-A 2000. Powers up

It is not so easy to probe into to find a protection fault condition. The fault can be your output drivers- the mosfets fitted for both the channels, Use a meter after disconnecting to check for short in the drivers. Disconnect the positive and negative voltages to the output and see if the protect changes.
If so replace the outputs. If not there can be issues in the mother board, maybe the protect circuit by itself is shutting off due to a faulty bias , maybe a leak in any voltage/current sensing circuit. Also disconnect the speakers and test, if the protect is off then check for short on the speakers.

My SU-G95 provides for switching

I can't find a manual or a decent picture of the rear panel but maybe that's because they don't want you running speakers in parallel as it may present a dangerously low impedance.

If you REALLY want to risk it just wire both sets of speakers to the same posts and watch out when turning up the volume. Monitor the amp for excessive heat in case it starts to cook itself. If theamp shuts down even once, UNDO the scheme.

The safer way, assuming the two sets of speakers' relative volume levels are about equal, is to run them in series with each other and present a higher (safer) impedance.

The recommended impedance is probably silk-screened right on the back.

Hi, My amp is a

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech. This amp isn't a real powerhouse. Perhaps you're overdriving it. Exceeding it

How must I connect the amplifyer V500 with my

I assume you want to record from tape to computer and monitor the recordings later.
Simple three steps.
1) Connect the tape deck line out ( or labeled PLAY ) to any one of the inputs like Aux / Tuner using an 2RCA connector.
2) Connect Rec out from the SUV' to line input of your PC ( blue socket ) sound card.
3) To monitor your PC sound after recording on to Hard Disc , connect a cable between the PC sound out ( green socket ) and the the SUV Tape monitor IN ( sometimes labeled PLAY ) Now comes the tricky partbobhifi_30.jpg.When you want to record on to your PC put the source switch on the SUV to where you have connected the Tape deck ( Aux / Tuner ). On the SUV keep the Tape Monitor switch to source ( released position ). After having done the recording to monitor and hear the Hard Disk playback turn on the Tape Monitor switch ( dipress it ). The pressing of the Tape switch on the SUV lets you toggle between the source and recording - In your case Tape deck and PC

SURROUND AND CENTER SPEAKERS WORK FINE BUT NO

Can you fill in something about the speakers and how you have them attached? Since this is a stereo amplifier one wonders how you have anything but the front speakers powered unless you're using THIS amp for just the one pair and driving it from an AV receiver pre-out.

What else is missing from this problem description?

Looking for shorting pins for

You can make it by yourself. All you have to do is to shorten a pair of RCA cord to about 2 inches and then plug them into the
shorting pins hole.

When i make phono

As long as the phono input is only being used for a record deck the most likely cause is a faulty magnetic cartridge pre-amp. If you are connecting any other device to these sockets, remove it and place it in another socket. If you haven't got enough sockets you can get a switching box to solve the problem. If you are getting the problem due to a record deck, make certain it hasn't got a built in pre-amp first, check the cartridge and wiring to it and all deck connections. If still no luck then you will find that you need to replace the pre-amp. It will be a single IC, which can be found by following the wiring from the phono sockets inside the amp.

Hi and welcome to the site,

The specifications prescribes:
  • 4 ~ 16 ohms if either MAIN or REMOTE is used;
  • 8 ~ 16 ohms if both MAIN and REMOTE are used at the same time.

Offhand, any 8 ohms speaker rated at 60 ~ 100 watts would be compatible.

Good luck and thank you for asking.

Technics a900 mk2 amplifier cut out sound to speakers.

First of all, Marcus, you will need to check if you have blown off the speakers. Just remove and use a good 1.5 AA cell to test both the speakers. If ok connect and switch on. try to hear if the relay is clicking or if you hear any noise. If not disconnect, open the set and use a multimeter to check if the output had failed. Check on the sections only if your are familiar working with circuits or else it might not be recommended. Get help from a friend to check the protect circuitt and the main board for failure of the mosfets/ outputdrives. If you can reset the amp do so by keeping the menu pressed on swithed on. or keep it off for anout 12 hours. it will reset on its own. I hope this helps. Good day

SUV500 2-Channel Amplifier: Hi! can I connect another technics cd-player,sl...

yes you can connect another cd player to the DAT input of your amp.
input connections like DAT, TUNER, CD, AUX etc (except phono) is just to differentiate between what sources are connected, the amp cannot tell what source is connected and will output the sound no problem.

as for the remote operation, if the 2 technics cd players are switched on at the same time they're going to do what you command from the remote together but you'll obviously be listening to 1 at a time.
