what does the blue light problem look like on the screen. is it all over the screen, or small dots, or a dim haze etc?

No. Mostly you need to change the engine. Please take it to service centre

the light filter on the blue lcd panel is fried due to excessive dust and heat. clean out the projector with canned air. unfortunately, you cannot buy individual parts of the optical engine- you'll have to replace the whole thing. or live with it.

If you're using component video (red/green/blue rca cables) one of the colors may be disconnected, or the wires may be swapped into the wrong color input. If you are using a 15 pin VGA connector, one of the pins may not be getting good contact at the source or at the projector. Or if the VGA cable is split into 5-wire to make a long cable run, one of the five wires may be disconnected. Any of these problems will cause a global color shift while not affecting the color of the projector's on screen menus.

All you need to do is use a vacuum hose to vacuum the dust that collects on the filter. The filter cover is on the side of the projector with horizontal slits. You can vacuum through the slits, or remove the cover and carefully vacuum the filter itself. Then go into the menu and reset the filter timer. Find this reset button in the "setup" menu item. Then your clean filter reminder won't show until another 100 hours of usage.

Using composit cable will not help better to use VGA also what hrs do you hacve on the lamps and have the projectors had their 1000Hrs service?

There is a small cover plate, about 3"X6", that 'just' snaps off. You might have to use a small screw driver to pry it open. The bulb can then be pulled out. Align the new bulb and press it down into the socket. Be careful not to touch the bulb with your hands; use gloves or a lint free cloth.

I suspect the ballast (supply for the HID lamp) has failed due to an expired lamp. Probably not ecconomic to repair.

Incorrect replacement lamp I would think.
