Do a master reset
1. unplug the TV from the wall
2. remove the batteries from the remote
3. wait 24 hrs
4. plug TV into the wall socket
5. install batteries in remote
6. hold power on button for minimum 10 seconds
This was given to me by the Hisense service line and worked for my TV.

Make sure your speakers wires are plugged and then check the you do not have mute on!

Try connecting using a different cable first.

Hit the menu button. By hitting the volume button once you will see a menu to adjust TV. Click down by hitting channel to TV frame. Click adjust volume.

I went to purchase a new remote on line and they had a tip that work! Don't ask me how. Take the batteries out. push all the buttons one at a time at least once, replace the batteries CORRECTLY and try the remote Mine worked!

Try turning the main power switch on the back of the tv off.
Then hold the menu button and push that switch back on while still holding the menu button.
Keep holding the menu button until the setup menu pops up.
Next, be sure your input is set correctly(air or cable).
Next, do an auto channel search.

That did it for me. After I shut it off I had to do it one more time but it did the job. A friend of mine gave me the tv for free because nobody he new could figure it out. I took it home, got lucky, and figured it out in about ten minutes.

you can get parts on ebay at shop jimmy an ebay store. However they will not be listed as Hisense parts. You have to take the numbers off of the circuit board you wish to replace. Almost every circuit board is actually made by Samsung as is the actual screen and then put into off brand televisions like Maxent, ESA, and Hisense. These three companies have used about 90% of the same parts in their 42" edtv's from what I can tell. I actually have the exact same television you have and it needs a non-Samsung part. So if you don't have any luck maybe one of us could canabalize the others tv or swap parts to trouble shoot our problems. Scott austin, tx
