How do i format to fat32 using windows 7
Windows 7 will format an external partition to FAT32, as long as it's 32GB or less. "Control Panel -> System and Security -> Administrative Options". Right click on "Computer Management", select "Run as an Administrator", double-click on "Storage" then "Disk Management", the right click on your external drive. Select "Shrink Volume", shrink it by 32GB or less, then right click on unallocated space, select format, and "FAT32" will show up as an option during the format wizard.
This is a way to create a small bit of space on an external hard drive for copying some files from Mac OS's to Windows.

Computer doesnt recognize drive
Try a different usb port on the computer. Maybe the usb port you are using is bad.Try the portable drive on another computer and see if it is recognized. If not, the portable drive might be defective.

I have tried connecting my Iomega 250 gb USB 2
First try connecting this USB drive to a different computer.
If this did not work then the USB adapter case is faulty, then remove the hard drive from the case and attach the hard drive to an USB hard drive adapter then plug it into a working computer's US port. If the hard drive is OK then the computer will see this as an external storage device and you can open the folders and files to backup the data off this hard drive.
If this does not work then there are companies that can recovery data from faulty hard drives BUT it will cost you an arm and a leg for their services.

Portable hard drive won't save info. Message says
While the drive is attached to your system and you can access it, open "Computer" or "My Computer" (depending on your operating system), then Right-Click on the drive and a menu will appear. At the bottom of that menu click on "Properties" and then make sure the drive is not marked as "Read Only". Also, go to the security tab in the "Properties" window and make sure your Administrator account and User account have Write Access to the drive.
If the above does not resolve your issue, make sure there's no write protection switch of some sort on the drive. I've never seen one like that, but it's worth checking.
Also, you could try unplugging the drive, reboot the computer, then plug the drive back into the computer once it boots back into Windows.
I hope this helps!
Best Regards,
James

PC not recognising Iomega Prestige 320gb usb portable hard drive
Does the drive show in Device Manager? Right click on 'My Computer' and select properties, the open device manager.. Navigate down to Disk Drives or Hard Drives, click on the plus sign and see if your drive is listed. If it is, then right click on the drive name and open properties for the drive. Click on the 'Volumes' tab and hit the 'Populate Button'. It may be the disk just needs initialising, then reformatting before you can use it. If it does need initializing, a wizard should appear to guide you through the process!
If this doesn't solve your problem, try using a different USB cable and/or USB ports on your computer, and ensure to unplug all other USB devices other than keyboard & mouse.

I connected a 12V Iomega MDHD360-UE Hard Drive to a 16V Power supply
that is now a cooked drive a la 16v way too much input voltage for that unit. you might get lucky though and have a drive recovery specialist extract the data from the platters. check online or in phone book for data recovery folks who usually charge around 50 bucks to tell you the old good news/bad news story
