Our hard wire smoke detector
Change the 9V backup battery,with a new one.Push and hold the reset button for a minute or two for the alarm to to go off like about 30-40 sec. for the smoke detector to dectected the 9V backup battery power sourced.The green power LED light indicator will stop flashing also the beeping sounds too.

You didn't mention if you had replaced the battery, yet. If you haven't, then that's more than likely the problem. Also, it probably needs cleaning. You can accomplish this by using canned compressed air (like you clean your computer with). Use the straw nozzle to reach all the nooks and crannies. Clean after removing the old battery and before installing the new battery. Batteries should be changed annually and at the same time clean the unit. When using the canned compressed air, try to keep the can in the upright position, as much as possible.
My alarm and smoke detector keeps beeping a single
Ours keeps chirping even after we replaced the battery. I'm not sure how to fix it.
We are going to try and clean it but if it keeps doing it after that then I guess it means it needs to be replaced, right?

Check to see if the unit has a replaceable battery. If not, you will likely find instructions on front or back that tell you exactly what the beeping means.

Smoke detector keeps chirping after battery is
The chirp means the battery you chose wasn't good enough... it has to be the newest '''alkaline''' you can get hold of. If it isn't alkaline that's why you are having trouble. Upon replacement press the button to do a hard reset.
