3 new Kidde i4618 smoke

smoke detectors work by smelling the air across a radioactive anode which upsets the electronics and sets off the alarm it can be set off not only by smoke but by heat and gasses in the air the new and better product is a photo electric detector which alerts earlier and can be installed connected to each room and into the house power or they come with a 10 years lithium battery It could be a faulty unit so take it back for a warranty exchange unit

New smoke detector, light flashing green, is that right

did you connect it to the electricity? this unit is not battery only; it requires connection to the household electricity. the only thing i could find in the manual makes it look like it's indicating low battery, but if it's not chirping once per minute as well then i would guess that it's looking for power

How to replace battery back-up in hard-wired

Those battery holders are not easy to find on that model. However, look for a small screw on the outer perimeter of the detector. That's the door that needs to removed to replace the back-up battery. Some models don't have the screw, but can be popped open with gentle pressure using a flat tip screw driver.

Hope that helped to solve your problem.
