Vivitar ViviCam X327 Digital Camera - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Vivicam5388
With all digital cameras the maker delivers a CD (DVD) with software to install on your computer, to make it possible to put the pictures from the camera on any computer. On the disk(s) are drivers for all operating systems that need them. (Windows 7 and up do have all drivers for hardware that is certified by Microsoft) And there are programs to download the pictures from the camera to the PC. Sometimes the manufactures also delivers software to organise the pictures in folders and software to view or even enhance the pictures you shot.
When you lost the disk, most of the time you can get the software on the website for your brand. Sometimes you even get newer updated software and new drivers if needed.
If you can't get software form your brand, you always can install other generic software like Ulead, Pixir, BeFunkey, Gimp, Photoshop express. Or if that is not possible you could install an external memory card reader and download the pictures via de memory card reader.
Deleted pictures
If the pictures were on a memory card and you and your daughter have done nothing to the card since then, maybe. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer, cross your fingers, and run the program.
No power with new batteries
Make sure you have strong enough batteries. I bought dollar store batteries and they won.t work on digital cameras. Try the regular, name brand ones. Good luck.
New batteries but no power
Sometimes it helps when you tell what model you have, but still I will try to give some common hints.Depending of what you use, always be sure all batteries are the same, charged and suited for your camera. Most of the time even new Ni-CD rechargeable batteries won't work, because the voltage is to low, according to Ni-MH or alkaline batteries. Checking the voltage of every cell with a multimeter could tell you for sure the batteries are good. Voltage should be jus above the voltage printed on the battery when measured. Then there could be a malfunction of the camera. When something is blocked in the camera, the electronic will shut down, to prevent extra damage. Sometimes the lens is stuck and won't come out. This could have lots of causes, but it should overheat the motor or bring extra damage to the gears. Most of the tome you can't repair mechanical malfunction of a camera yourself, so you should visit your dealer of the support centre from Vivitar.
SD Card Problems with Vivitar Vivicam 5118!
What size is the memory card. If it's larger than 4GB then it won't work in the 5118.Try using another card. Don't format it in your computer but do format it in the camera before trying to take pictures.
