Do you really want the Vivitar software? The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. How to add a sountrack using video editing?
You can use ArcSoft ShowBiz which I have tried recently. Their new version ShowBiz 5 is great to add and edit multiple tracks including audio and video ones. You simply drag a music file to the interface and it is added to sound track auto, you drag the edges and the track is cut or spreaded. It's really cool.

It should be said again, people should more often backup their valuable data.
If the pictures were on the camera's memory card and if they were automagically
deleted after an amount of 300 pictures, the memory card or the camera is faulty.
Place a new memorycard into the camera and format it, than test of it will then
work correctly. If not, the camera is probably faulty.
When overwriting the memorycard with other pictures, the older deleted ones are
gone forever and cannot being recovered.
