The only thing thats little out with these is that you sometimes have to adjust the temp dial in the inside of the unit to make it read the same temp as the room.

This is the manual for your thermostat. You probably just have bad batteries. If you pull your thermostat shell off you should see batteries in the shell or base, further, if you have a blue wire in the wires that hook to base, make sure it's connected. The unit could be bad but, they count on the batteries for display and memory.

i cant get my ac to turn on what temp should i have it on to cool the house

The outer shell of the thermostat pushes on(clips) to mounting bracket attached to wall.

1. Remove the packing material from the thermostat. Gently

pull the cover straight off the base. Forcing or prying on

try googleing that model and it might tell u how to program it or see if there is a video on youtube just type the model of it and name

Pull your display off wall and see if your unit has batteries. If you have a blue wire or, a wire connected to the "B" terminal in your thermostat(the part connected to wall, this should produce the power to show display. If you do not have a blue wire, it is dependant on the batteries for display. Change out batteries and see what happens. Obviously with no display, your system won't work. If this doesn't solve your problem, replace the thermostat.

your thermostat is going bad replace it.
