How do you get to full screen

Go to the TV's menu and go to "picture", or "setup". If you are watching one of those annoying widescreen movies, then there's not really much you can do about it other than zooming in. At your own risk.

I just recieved the Sylvania

Hello! I hope that you have gotten this resolved, but if not, here are some steps to do so. You can program the remote to the TV first and then use that for this, or you can use the buttons on the TV itself.

Remote to TV Steps:

1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights light up at the top of the remote
2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below)
3. Press the # (POUND) button
4. Try powering the tv on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code
527
733
632

Satellite picture back:

If you are at TV1, where the receiver box is located, the tv needs to be on channel 3 or 4.
If you are using a coax cable, the TV needs to be on 3 or 4.
Depending on the cable that is running between the receiver and the tv, the tv may need to be on an input, such as video 1 or 2. If you are at the TV2 location, where there is no receiver, then the tv needs to be on channel 60 or 73.
If you are using an HDMI cable, then the TV will need to be on an HDMI input
If you are using Component cables, your TV will need to be on a component input. (Usually Comp 1 or 2)
If you are using RCA cables, then the TV will need to be on a VIDEO input (Usually Video 1 or 2)

My sylvania LC195SLX 19" TV

Hi
You will have to open the back of the television to repair the television, and care must be taken by unplugging the power plug of the television.
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Television and look at the power supply on the left hand side.

You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this help in solving the problem and do take care because it contain high voltages

I recieved a sylvania Lc195SLX

The PDF Manual at the link below shows how to programme your remote along with the possible codes for Sylvania TVs.

http://www.carltonbale.com/dish/remote/remote.pdf

If one of these work then another option would be to purchase a remote as the links below.

Universal
http://www.emtcompany.com/sylvania-lc195slx-remote/rc64.html

Original
http://www.electronicadventure.us/Merchant2/merchant.mv?screen=prod&store_code=EA&product_code=NH000UD

The PDF Manual for your TV can be downloaded at the link below.

http://www.sylvaniaconsumerelectronics.com/product/index.php?id=9

You should be able to use the CH UP & CH DOWN on the front of the set to select the required input.

I'm just finishing for the night (time 00:30 in UK). If you need any further assistance then can I ask that you leave 8 hours before you respond to avoid this being passed to another expert.

Cheers

Andy
