Well it could be a problem with the flame detecter.
With age the bi-metal tends to take a lot longer to reset so that the ignitor can begin another heat cycle. The ignitor is either gonna be good or bad
no in between. The coils that open the gas valve tend to get hot and short out with a little age.
That is a common problem with these good old gas dryers. You need to inspect the blower housing and filter area for air restrictions.
Lets see what else? Oh yeah the control mounted on the blower housing could be bad. It has 4 terminals,
2 small ones that operate a heater that heats up the bi-metal disc inside to make it shut down faster for knits and permapress stuff. Clever ain't it?
