Test: You might see a pic by shining a bright light against the screen. (Halogen can burn a spot if too close for too long like 15 seconds). If so, you probably have an inverter, backlight tube or coil/driver board problem. Some of thse units have a bad ground on the tube driver coil board which can be shimmed and/or tightened. Sometimes a simple car light tester (continuity tester with a 12v bulb) from casing/mount ground to any of the - side of the backlight driver coils will light the screen and reveal which tube is non functional. I leave one dome light running in such ground position one of my TVs at all times for regulation and night dimming.
