Dynex DX-LCD37 TV Questions & Answers
I have a dynex dx-lcd37-02
Time Warner has about 8 different remotes. I have the UR3-EXP remote and the Emerson code 096 worked for me.
Why won't my dynex tv stop changing channels?
Just try a reset to this set, and check. If it do not help you, the main system control memory IC is faulty. Check and replace it. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. If there is no power LED lights up at its front panel, it indicates that the main power supply regulator board inside the TV has the fault. It do not works at all, or it do not get the AC mains power into it to work.
If the power LED at its front panel is lit, and the set do not power up by pressing the power button at the remote control; it is the symptom of a faulty main board.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

No sound through the headphones
The way the headphone jack works is:
plug your headphones in and then mute the television using the remote.
While the TV is muted you can still use the volume up and down controls to adjust the volume through the headphones. I find that having the volume at 60-75% is more than loud enough on the headphones.
Just be careful when you unplug the headphones and take the TV off of mute, if your volume levels are still turned up you will be in for a jolt :)
