Hit it with a hammer when u put it in the open position. To slide it all the way open.

its really not that hard myself i have a air compressor and i blow all the junk out of it,if u dont have air take it out side and gently bang the filter against something and it should clean it out .....

The model that you have unscrews from the top. Unscrew the cover of the base to gain access to the belt and brushroll. Remove your brushroll and the broken belt. That vacuum takes a Eureka EXT-U belt. Use your brushroll to stretch the new belt into place. Let the brushroll click back into place and secure the cover back onto the base.

The belt is stretched, worn or broken and therefore not turning the roller brush. You need to replace the belt. It's simple to do. Here is a link to the belts you need and the manual which has instructions:

Does the brushes turn , if not you have maybe a broken belt. if brushes turn i suspect a blockage in the bottom unit.

Actually Fixya does have the owners manual for your particular model downloaded to their site. Please see page 5 of the instruction manual that will explain how you can empty the dust container. Also instructions on basic maintenance in terms of the filter replacement, and belt changing. This is a very useful booklet to have.
