Hi billkratzenb,

Try turning the device off for 5 mins, and turn it back on.

if the light still blinks even though there are no messages, go through the device settings and restore everything to Factory Default.

Hand set tcx905 will not register

Remove the plastic battery cover from the handset (but keep the a battery connected), then place the handset on the base. That will enable the metal contacts at the bottom of the handset to touch the ones on the bottom of the base.

NEED TO DEREGISTER LOST HANDSET

The "END" and "#" key combination can be used for several purposes:

1) If wanting to use an ALREADY REGISTERED HANDSET on an alternate base, and if if the INITIAL BASE isn't available to deregister the handset:

1a) Press "END" + "#" until it for 5+ seconds (wait for it to beep)
1b) Choose the "Base Unavailable" option
1c) That'll deregister the CURRENT HANDSET so that it can be re-registered on ANY base.

2) If a BASE has a handset registered to it which you no longer want registered but the registered handset is missing or broken:

2a) Grab another WORKING handset which is properly REGISTERED to the BASE in question
2b) Press and hold the "END" + "#" key for 5+ seconds (wait for it to beep)
2c) Choose the "Deregister HS" menu option
2d) Pick the REGISTERED HANDSET # to de-register. (Every other registered handset EXCEPT THE ONE YOU'RE ON will appear in the list!)

I need to deregister missing handset #1

To de-register HANDSET #1:

1) Grab any working handset which is registered to your base (so HANDSET #2 or #3 in your case)

2) Press and hold the "END" + "#" key for 5+ seconds (wait for it to beep)

3) Choose the "Deregister HS" menu option

4) Pick HANDSET #1 as the handset ot de-register (since that's the "phantom" registered handset)

5) Once de-registered, you can de-register handsets #2 and #3 directly from each handset's "normal" menu interface (i.e. press "Menu", choose "Deregistration")

6) Thereafter, if you re-register your handset, they should start at HANDSET #1, then #2, and so on.

Battery life

I have the same problem. Replacing the battery solves it, but for about 6 months, then the new battery holds less and less charge.

Static on the phone

If it is a corded phone then probably wind gusts are compromising a connection from the pole to your house, if your lines are not buried. I if it is a cordless set wind could be the problems but most likely a HAM radio operator or CB radio is keying up in your neighborhood. They don't have a very tight bandwidth and the harmonic distortion is high. I would recommend getting one of the new 5.8 GHz digital cordless sets. They have excellent filtering capabilities.

How to Remove Call Block from Uniden phone

#82 to remove the block from AT&T phone lines. This has to be done before every call if your account is set to block caller ID. Refer to the front section of the white pages if your service is not from AT&T. Beware, some phone companies charge as much as .50 each time you remove the block.

Phone is out of range

Make sure that your battery is fully chaged, other than that, the only way to fix out of range problems is to either A. move closer to the cell site or B. Get a booster, not usually cost effective, but if you google cell phone booster you will find one.

Hope this helps.
