I got my battery pack off my Gogo Traveller Elite scooter. But the batteries are encased in plastic and I don't see a way to get them out. Help?

Turn the battery pack up side down and you will see holes around the outside of the case. With a long (12") Philips screw driver, remove 8-10 screws. carefully turn the pack back on it feet and the lid will come off. Be careful with the wires inside the battery pack and make a note of where they go.

I HAVE RASCAL 235 SCOOTER A LOUD SCREECHING NOISE

Use compressed air to blow dust and rust out of the brake assembly. If the noise persists you may need to disassemble the brake, clean it by hand - especially the brake pad. You may also have the armature nut misaligned at the brake tearing the brake pad apart. Loosen it when you are cleaning the brake and then remount it 1/32" back away from the back end of the brake.

How far will 17amp batterygo

I keep asking this exact question, and have come to the conclusion that the answer is the same as how long is a piece of string. I got a load of answers ranging from 10 miles(bit of a nonsense - my cronky old rascal taxi did that!) up to 18 miles, which I feel is a bit optimistic unless it is all on dead smooth dead flat surface with the wind behind you. Be glad to hear a definitive answer, and havea speedo fitted to my Travelller!

Have got 4 year old traveller plus both lights on the charger do not come on when plugged in

The 17 amp hour batteries on this scooter rarely last more than 1.5 years. If the batteries are 4 years old, find some replacements on-line. With a long phillips screwdriver it is easy to open the battery box and replace the 2 batteries yourself. You should check the 2 fuses to make sure they are not burnt open and are making good contact. Hope this helps

When first purchased the scooter

Well if the scooter wasn't charged regularly while it sat for 3 months then the batteries are probably weak and will need to be replaced. These smaller batteries will not tolerate not being charged regularly and unfortunately one or both batteries has gotten weaker and does not hold a charge like it should when new. Sorry i can't give you a better answer Remember to charge the new batteries before use and if you are not using the scooter regularly (daily) always put up fully charged and charge at least once a week. If you use it daily charge the scooter when you go to bed and unplug when you get up in the morning. If you do this you should get good use out of your batteries. Hope this helps

Amp meter registerss 3/4 and

I would check the to see if the batteries are overcharged. You can tell this by looking at the sides of the batteries. If they are "swollen" and have distorted the battery shape, that is being caused by the charger. I had the same problem and needed to by new batteries and a new charger.

Brake seems to stick on causing battery to run

Sounds like you have weak batteries or a bad brake. You can measure the brake resistance at the connector between the front and rear halves of the scooter. The brake is good if the resistance measures between 30 to 65 ohms.
You should load test the batteries to see if they are good. It takes battery power to run the motor and release the brakes. Weak batteries will cause the brakes to drag and the scooter to run slow.
A new brake costs about $70 and new batteries start at $40 each.
If you do not have a beep fault code, nothing has burnt out yet. I would have the scooter checked out soon by a qualified technician. Hope this helps.

I have a Go Go

you need to use an electric screwdriver or regular one with long narrow blade, then turn the batter housing over and insert the driver into the holes on the bottom of the case. Use slow speed in the counterclockwise direction, you will feel the screws release as there will be a clicking sound. Seperate the case and disconnect the batteries. Charge them on a car battery charger, put the batteries in parallel by using jumper cables then hook chargers to the batteries. Sometimes the scooter charger will not fully charge. Use 6amp or lower setting while charging. Also check and see if the fuse is blown or not inserted all the way.

Where can I get the best price for batteries for

In my experience the cheapest batteries are not necessarily the best. The small 17 Ah batteries for this scooter should be AGM (Advanced glass mat). The less expensive batteries will last you about 6 months or more. The AGM batteries should last 1 year or more but they are more expensive. Shop around on-line and you should be able to find them locally at a good price. They are easy to replace but it requires a long #1 phillips screwdriver to get the battery box screws out. If you do it yourself or have a friend do it you will save on the labor cost which can be significant. I have seen them on-line from $34 to $179 so be sure to shop around. Hope this helps.

Have only used a couple of times battery will not

It sounds like the batteries have gone bad and need to be replaced.

The batteries contain a gel that needs to have current run through it on a regular basis (at least 8 hours once a week) or it will solidify. If you attach the charger, what will most likely happen is the green light will either stay green or go to green after a very short time. When you turn on the power chair, nothing happens. The charger will indicate the batteries are full, but instead of being full of pwer, they are full of crud. Your warranty will most likely not cover replacment as this is due to customer neglect, but your insurance may still cover the replacement if you can wait for the process to go through. Otherwise, you will need to replace the batteries on your own. Good luck!

My father-in-laws gogo will be not used for

Charge the batteries fully and remove the battery pack from the scooter. About once a month charge the battery pack. It shouldn't take long to charge since you are not using the scooter Don't overcharge when the light on the charger turns green turn it off and unplug it from the battery pack. This should keep the batteries fully charged and fresh when FIL gets back home. Hope this helps you
