After receiving this particular chair I had

imwaltz Sorry buddy but if it sat that long the batteries are probably too low for the charger to pick up and charge. to bad you didn't just charge those batteries once a month while you were laid up. You will have to get new batteries. If Medicare paid for your chair they will pay for most of the repair costs. Contact Repair Xpress @ 1-877-581-3733 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 these are 2 excellent service companies that will bill Medicare for repair and have a tech repair the chair for you. Hope this helps

The battery will not hold a charge for very long

Bronnaf Well probably. How old are the batteries? If they are 2 years old or older yes I would say they are bad. If you have not any problems before and then I'll assume the charger has been working and still getting a full charge but the lights fall off quicker than before Yes you need new batteries. Now Did Medicare pay for your chair? If they did then they will pay most of the repair costs. You can contact a repair service and they will fix your chair then bill Medicare You would have to pay any deductible that Medicare doesn't pay. The Pronto will not keep

Mckinzie the lights will flash when charging because of the inhibit mode. After you unplug the charger and turn the chair on do you get any lights at all on the battery indicators? If not lift up the seat and check your battery cable connections the neg cable from the rear battery should be connectd to the positve side of the front battery and the rear neg should plug into the small connector of the other cable. Make sure then that the large double plug is connected to the double plug going to the controller. while the seat is up then turn the chair on to see if all the lights come on. If not check that all your connections at the battery posts are tight. Also check under the two red positve battery post covers the two fuse links to make sure they are not blown. If all of this checks out the chair should come on and operate correctly Hope this helps

Ya i have one of them wheelchair it ran great till

Well if Medicare purchased your chair and it is 5 years or older you are eligible for a new chair. The problem with your chair besides batteries is a leaking plug on your gearbox attached to the motor. These cannot be fixed so it requires a new motor/gearbox assembly. Just as soon get a new chair because Medicare won't want to pay the costs of repair when you can get another chair. Hope this helps

Power failure

The batteries may not be dead. When pulling a hill especialy for long periods, you may draw too much current and the circuit breaker will open. If you wait a few minutes you can reset it and resume. If the batteries are not fully charged or in good condition, the unit will shut down it total system voltage drops below 17 volts.

I have a invacare wheelchair pronto91 wont move 2

The three light flash indicates a short circuit between the left motor(as you are sitting in the chair)and the battery. Check all the wiring from the control box to the motor and make sure it is not damaged in any way. If it is okay, you have most likely fried the left side motor. A new motor-gearbox assembly for this chair runs in the neighborhood of $1,400.00, or you can take the motor off and take it in for a full rebuild for about $250 or so. Unplug the joystick and remove the seat and cowl. Jack up the left side with both motors in gear. Remove the center nut cover and take off the nut holding on the wheel taking care to retain the key that slides into the groove on the axle. Disconnect the wiring plug to the motor and remove the six bolts holding the motor to the frame. Separate the gearbox from the motor and take the motor to a rewind shop for repairs. Reinstall and it should be good to go.

My Dad's Invacare Pronto M91

First you have to make sure that all of your connections and connectors are secure. Then if you can get hold of a voltmeter you can check at the batteries terminals for a voltage that is slightly above the rated batterie voltage(while in charging mode) i.e; 13.5 volt for 12 volts batt.
Also disconnect the charger and measure the voltage at its terminal. In either case a low or no volt indication means that the charger is faulty. If this is the case look for a bad d.c cord and connector, you may also have bad solder joints inside the charger. If you`re handy with a soldering iron you can take the cover off and look around the d.c power cord connections and surrounding area.
Hope this will help. good luck

We initially charged a pair

Before you assume the battery charger in the chair is not charging the batteries up fully have the batteries tested, u may have a defective battery, it doesn't happen often but believe it does happen, batteries like any other device can be defective from the box, also measure the voltage from the charger on board the chair, it should be a at least 2 volts over the total battery voltage, if not the chair's battery charger is defective.

Can't charge Pronto M91.

Hi Bob. Unfortunately in most cases this means that the batteries have gone so flat that they cannot be “revived”. The best thing to do is take the batteries to a local battery dealer and have them checked. You may need to replace them. Another possibility is that because the batteries are so flat, the charging circuit hit a wobbly trying to resuscitate them and popped a fuse button. A simple reset may help. Happy scooting. Change Batteries in Pronto M91 with swivel seat.

Turned out to be a "doh!" moment. Use the lever on the side of the seat to permit swivel. Unplug Controls connector. Lift seat off unit. Remove battery compartment cover by loosening 2 Philips-head screws on the Charger cover at the rear. Disconnect cable to Electronic Controller at front of front battery. Disconnect the Red and Black battery connectors, the ones that join the 2 batteries. Lift out batteries. Transfer battery connections to new batteries. Reverse the above process to reassemble.
Solved this without any help from outsiders, including FixYa, who wanted to charge me for the solution.
