Weak coffee
since I replaced the O rings on the brew unit I then found the grinder was not producing enough grinds - this resulted in weaker coffee - replaced the grinder with a reconditioned unit from :
[email protected]
Now the machine is as new and the recon grinder has a quieter motor and grinder assembly.
They are great to work with and sell all the parts with instructions and diagrams - now my 10 year old machine is as good as new.
Light Indicators: on the second row of lights,
This light indicates that the Cleaning Program should be run. You have to consult a manual to do this right. For one, you need the correct cleaning tables to use for the cleaning cycle.
Krups orchestro art889 water is coming down
Most likely the main O-rings have to be replaced. There is an excellent step-by-step instruction available on http://www.kaffeemaschinendoctor.de/Downloads:_:30.html under Jura, Aeg, Krups - It's in German, but Google can translate it. This repair is not for the faint at heart, but it can be done. The O-Rings can be found in any decent hardware store.

Krups type 889 Espresso machine leaks water
I have found the two parts mentioned in my previous Email on a webpage other than yours, however I have not ordered the parts at this time. If you have the parts in stock, let me know the price.
Once I receive the parts and replace them, I will know for sure if my troubleshooting is correct.
Krups Orchestro Leaking
This is a common fault on these machines i have replaced every seal on mine and it still leaks,unless it is really bad i would advise that it be left alone.p.s they are a bit of cuckoo clock inside a proper strip and clean takes about two hours and the parts are hard to come by.
Machine light for cleaning won't go out
Leave it unplugged for one full hour, then replug it. If it doesn't turn off after that, your problem is most likely electrical, which would require calling Krups for additional service.

I had the same problem. The pipe that delivers the coffee brew is plugged, therefore, the brew leaks back in the waste tray. You need to take the top cover only. Then you will see a silicone hose. You need to pull the hose out of the head pipe. You can remove easily the head pipe as it snaps on the pipe that delivers the brew. What I did was to run the descaling program. Then inserted a thin stiff wire during the cleaning process and gently pushed the wire a few times to remove the obstruction. You have to be careful. Once the obstruction is cleared steam or liquid will come out of the pipe with some pressure. Then stop the cycle and run it again once the head pipe and top cover are replaced. Although there are no electrical wires visible when you take the top cover you need to be careful and wear rubber gloves and goggles. This worked for me and it was probably due that the machine was not used for sometime and the coffe brew plugged the delivery pipe. Good luck

Remove the the four screws at the rear of the machine you will need a pair of pliers to do this and remove the hinged lids on both sides.looking down from the top and to the front you will see a phillips screw on either side,remove these and the top will come off you will then see the channels that the coffee runs from the machine now just use a piece of suitable material to clean the pipe,easy!
