I have a hitachi NR83A2 and have had some leaks. When plugged into the air supply the gun blows air through the nose. Shoots fine but blows a LOT of air constantly. Already replaced all orings. Ideas?

recheck the "O" rings for one rolled over or nicked when assembling put a small screw driver blade under the "o" rings and travel around the piston several times to allow the ring to settle in properly

Replacement Parts

A lot of the compressors I have had were discontinued before I ever received them. I know what ordering the right part can be like. If you can give me a description of what the part does or where it is located I will brain storm with you to find a work around. If you leave a comment it will email me.

Hitachi EC89 air compressor just hums and reset button pops..doesn't turn on at all..

it indicates that the start / run capacitors are failed remove the power lead from the wall and get the details from the capacitor/s and go to a motor rewind shop and they will have replacement capacitors available if you can take the capacitor/s with you it is even easier

Where is the restart button on a ec12 hitachi compresor

I have seen two locations over the years including incorporated within the field coils. If not under the shroud mounted to metal frame, it is located on the shroud very visible. If yours is not visible , then most likely in windings. This internal reset will cut out on high heat , then reconnect after cool down. Can't rush cool down. Motor will overheat on low power / long or too thin power cord. If reset does not cut back in, then reset probably burned-out. It is not ment to be replaced but not impossible. The motor can be taken apart and reset removed and breaker installed on shroud. Good luck

What type of lube oil for my hitachi brad nailer

Needs very little oil, just few drops of sewing machine oil or nail gun oil sold at lowes or home depot. Purchase smallest size bottle of Paslode or bostitch nail gun oil (most likely they will not have hitachi oil). Do not by air tool oil as this oil is for air powered impact etc. Good luck

Spring for nail clips in Hitachi framing nailer

I usually order the springs from WWW.toolpartsdirect.com. Not expensive but shipping fee is about 8.95 if you order one part or many. Also check with nail or fastener companies in your area. If you buy nails from them they will give you a spring. To install spring check this forum for very good explanation. Good luck

Air leak from back of gun after rebuild

Hitachi nailers cycle the whole cylinder as the air valve when gun fires. The orings are most likely too tight around the cylinder. Easy to check. Remove the head and depress the cylinder with thumbs and cylinder should pop back up. If the cylinder is down pull it back up and reinstall head. The hack method to get the cylinder up is to rap the gun head against hard rubber pad (with head installed and air connected). If cylinder moves down then up, most likely head valve gaskets (under headvalve ) or headvalve itself or top of cylinder damaged. Good luck

I have a Hitachi NR83A3 framing nail gun. It won't drive nails flush. Adjusting the depth screw from one extreme to the other doesn't appear to help or change the driven nail depth. Any ideas?

Easy to check. Remove nails from gun and connect to air supply. Using hard rubber pad or soft wood depress and hold trigger and push nailer safety against pad and hold there. The gun will fire but the driver will stay down until you pull back on the gun and relieve pressure on the safety foot. With driver down examine the tip of the driver. It should look square and should extend about 1/4 inch or more past the nose. If tip is broken replace driver. If lots of air is leaking past the nose during test, also replace the lower bumper. Good luck

Hi Gene, OK, so there's a factory recall on this one as you understand it. Have you been in contact with Hitachi, or one of their service centres to check this is correct? If this is NOT the case, it could possibly be that the timber you're using could be too hard??? just for you're own piece of mind, have you tried to fire the same nail into some soft pinewood to see if the result is the same? You've got everything else under control - pressure, leaks etc. so, the timber density may be the issue?

Why doesn't myCordless finish nailer not firing all the time

With the cordless nailers the problem is almost always bad fuel. When the pressure is low you don't get enough fuel by depressing it once, it may take two or three before it will fire. Just because you just bought it doesn't mean it's good - check the expiration date stamped on the bottom of the cylinder. There are also other problems - worn O-rings, bad spark wire, bent contact element that won't let the cylinder move all the way up to make the head switch to name a few.

Nv45ab won't advance nails

The allen screw/s that you mention are there to plug holes where automatic equipment would normally connect (such as automatic nailing machines) . This is only a plug and should not be driven in too far. I have also seen allen screws installed in the head to repair small crack/s.
