Hi,
There is a relief that allows the pressure to come off of the cylinder head to enable easier starting when it restarts. Sounds like that relief is doing what it should but the check valve between the compressor and tank is bad.
Somewhere in the line from the compressor to the tank there is a check valve and that is no holding. Probably has dirt under the seat.

Orings, they have to be replaced every few years. Warranty does not cover them.

I know of only one company that has a complete kit but they are located in the Cincinnati, OH area. They would need to know if this is a coil nailer/roofing nailer and some other info but these kits unless you can find an air tool repair center in your area are complete, I have used them for 6 years and they should take care of your problem. First off more information is needed. How old is it? Do you use oil when you use it? Most likely it needs a rebuild kit.

hi mate on the oil tank take the oil filler plug out and fill it to the neck on the tank good luck

bad check valve allowing air from tank back to the pump which when trying to restart has all that air pressure in pump cylinder pushing against the pump piston and with this load you will end up burning the motor

your max pressure switch is faulty, and shutting off the power early. replace switch, check owners manual for location(should be near power wires)

Your problem falls into one of two categories the first is the tank is leaking the second is the compressor is leaking. Try this run the compressor for a minute or two and turn it off if to hear a hiss the tapers off slowly your tank is leaking some were check the drain on the bottom of the tank, the pressure relief valve on the top or side of the tank and all other connections between the compressor and tank.

In the event there is no hiss this means the problem is the compressor you may have a bad reed valve or a bad check valve depending on the type of compressor.

Not being sure about this model but do you have the air hose connected to the tire vent and does it meet the minimum requirements? This may be the only way that the compressor can know how much pressure is in the tire and to start counting.

I have not been able to purchase replacement parts for these nail guns , however, have repaired them using parts from Bostitch framers and or just make the part. If the seal fits over the top of the cylinder, then try using seal from Bostitch framer part #N70155 fits a bit tight but works. Heat with a hair dryer to soften and install. If the seat is incorporated within the head valve, just dig it out and replace it with liquid two part urethane. Just mix and pour it in. After cleaning out the old seal, place head valve on level surface and pour in the mixed urethane till slightly over full to give the seal a nice crown. The finish nailer might also be repaired using other brand of seals. Remove the old part and take it to service center for a possible match. Good luck with your repair.
