My computer will not turn on at all after changing
Okay, let's review, and let me ask some questions.
A) Did you follow Anti-Static Precautions? Used an ESD wrist strap, and connected the alligator clip to a good ground source?
B) Did you reconnect the Power Button Board?
C) Fan/Heatsink Assembly;
1) Did you reconnect the fan cable to the motherboard?
2) Did you scrape the top of the Processor clean, and the bottom of the heatsink plate on the cooling tube, and apply fresh, new thermal paste properly?
3) Did you tighten the heatsink plate screws in a criss-cross fashion, and did not over-tighten?
D) Did youi reconnect the RTC battery cable back to the motherboard? (RTC = Real Time Clock.
RTC Battery, another name for CMOS battery) You did disconnect the RTC battery, correct?
E) Reconnected the Power Connector Cable?
We'll start from here.
(Do you have the CQ50 series Notebook PC's Service Manual?)

Laptop short circut
A short circuit could cause several different problems with your computer, most of which will require a new motherboard, processor, or both. Is it not powering on at all? If not, then your motherboard is most likely fried. I would suggest taking it to a local computer shop, or you could contact my business and arrange to send it in to be diagnosed and checked over. There is no touch pad device setting in my laptop
Most of the time the settings are either found in the control panel and then mouse or else in start > all programs> and control (sometimes Catalyst center) you can also right click the pointing device in the taskbar and in device settings it will allow you to disable it from here.

Cannot read the hard disk
do it if u r a professional..
check the following:
1)1st i gotta know: is ur drive pata/sata and the device make n model..
assuming that ur drive is pata..
open
up ur system cabinet and see CAREFULLY/THOROUGHLY if all the data cables n jumper settings
at the back of the drives (master/slave selection)..[jump this step in case of laptop]..
at the bootup (0.29sec) start pressing
briskly the key to enter cmos utility or bios setup (eg. F1/F2/F10/Del
as applicable)..glance in the standard settings if r detected
individually..change the 'Mode' if m/b is hybrid type (both SATA+PATA) :
Native/Compatible/Enhanced (as applicable)..
see if ur device needs any additional driver or not, if so try downloading..
look if ur device itself is faulty by replacing with a standby..
2)is ur m/b compatible..check with a substitute/standby..
3)if ur hdd is making any humming noise (like 'tic tic' or 'kirr kirr')..if so it is likely to be replaced..
4)replace the data cable with a standby n see..
5)all the power connectors n data cables r properly sitted n connected..
6)reset(by picking/removing up the +3v cmos battery n resit it it again)..
7)update/flash the bios..
8)also
check the ram(s)..open it/them, rub itz teeth gently with a eraser, to
remove any oxide and or carbon formed..resit them again into the
slot(s)..
9)check for firmware update and or raid drivers (as applicable)..
10)often it does happen when there's some system file corruption..try reinstalling the OS again..
..NOTICE step3 (as listed above) CAREFULLY..

You may have a virus, malware, adware, a browser hijacker, or pups (potentially unwanted programs). A. If your computer will boot and you can operate it ok... Download and install Malwarebytes and Superantispyware (Note: If you can\'t do the download on your machine, do it on a friend\'s, put them on a thumb drive, and install them from it). Then scan your computer with each program, and quarantine anything found. B. If your computer won\'t boot, or can\'t operate properly after boot... Tap F8 when you are booting, select "Safe Mode With Networking". Download and install Malwarebytes and Superantispyware (Note: If you can\'t do the download on your machine, do it on a friend\'s, put them on a thumb drive, and install them from it). Then scan your computer with each program, and quarantine anything found. C. If this process finds malware, to keep stuff like that from coming back, I recommend you get the paid version of Malwarebytes.Good luckG
