Compact Presario CQ62 screen pink
OMG you think fixya is HP, sorry we are not, not by a million miles.
why should I?
this is old pc 6 years or less. and is fully out of warranty.
why would you expect free fixes, on any thing out of warranty
your car, your home, your TV or puter.
why?
we can point you to a real HP page, we are NOT HP
this is chat room full of wild kids that love to guess.
there are 5 CQ62-100 to 400 and a00. we cant guess that either.
try here. one post on pink.

or did you upgrade to 10, oops, that kills many things dead. ask.
reload your graphic driver, here.

facts
this PC had 2 choices new, one is Intel HD chip and other is AMD.
so one driver will load
and if not the other will
HP driver ,ran, tell you this in REAL TIME at load.
the drivers are exe files and they all check first if you have the matching chips or aborts and tells you , wrong driver.
we dont know the history of any PC.
posted here.
if you installed a Microsoft windows disk , many things will fail.,
use only HP media to install. and win.

Orange light comes on occassionally
Tap the orange light quickly two times to enable the touchpad. Touch the same spot twice to disable the touchpad. To see the instructions from HP type "mouse" into the Search Programs and Files. Click on "Change mouse settings" and click Device Settings. Click on "Settings" and click "Touch pad disable zone". I was delighted to have found this as I had been restarting the computer manually to enable the touchpad. Shame on HP. The instructions for this simple problem are difficult to locate for the average user. They can do better.

Compaq presario cq61 will not stay turned on.
For this kind of issue, please follow up the following steps to check:1.confirm the battery and ac adapter connect the laptop normally.Maybe the bad connect lead to this problem. If there are no lights when you turn on laptop, one of possible reason is that your adapter is malfunction.2.the second possible cause is laptop dc jack failure. If the dc jack is broken or loose, you are required to replace it or repair it.3.Another possible reason is that there is something wrong with laptop motherboard. For this situation, it includs two kinds of possibility,a failure in an electronic circuit and BGA malfunction. For more detailed reasons and solutions, please have a look at the following article:

Assuming that the issue is actually the LCD dsiplay itself, you can change to an external display by usin the fn + F4 combination keystroke. See attached image.
Hope this helps you.

When I power up all I get is a white screen
1Diagnose the problem with your computer. Watch the screen from the moment you hit the power button through the time it should take to boot into the Operating System.
Adjust the computer's contrast and brightness through their full ranges to make sure that the display settings have not been changed.
Reset the computer's LCD-External Monitor display with the LCD/External Monitor key combination and reboot the computer.
Continue to Step 2 if the screen is blank throughout the booting process.
2.Adjust the screen from its fully closed position to its fully opened position. Watch the monitor for any change from a blank screen to a display or vice-versa. If the screen flashes or cuts out, the LCD panel will need to be replaced. Skip to Step 5.
3.Skip this step if your computer does not have an external monitor output.
Connect your computer's external monitor output to a known good monitor and change the display from LCD to External Monitor (the keystroke combination is different for all notebook brands). Reboot the comptuer, if necessary.
If the computer does not display to the external monitor, the video card could be bad. Skip to Step 6.
4.Consult with a professional technician to determine the cost-effectiveness of replacing your computer's LCD if you are not knowledgeable in that area.
Purchase a compatible replacement LCD and install it yourself, or pay a professional technician to do so if you do not feel comfortable performing the repair.
5.Verify that the monitor connection cables are not loose or disconnected before attempting to replace it.
Replace the monitor yourself by removing the old monitor. Remove the hinge covers by gently prying them. Check if they are screwed to the computer before prying.
Find the monitor cable's connection to the motherboard. Turn your computer over and remove any plates that may cover the point of connection. Note the orientation of the cables before disconnecting them.
Unscrew the monitor from the hinges and gently detach it from your computer. Feed the new LCD panel's wires through the same path as the old wires, and reconnect them. Secure the new LCD's hinges and replace the hinge covers.
Power up the computer and check that it works. If it does not, recheck the wire connections.
6.Consult with a professional technician to determine the cost-effectiveness of replacing your computer's motherboard or video card if you are not knowledgeable in that area.
Purchase a compatible replacement motherboard or video card, and install yourself or pay a professional technician to do so if you do not feel comfortable performing the repair.
7.Replace the motherboard by disassembling the computer. Document every connection and be sure to retain all screws and small parts in order to reassemble the computer correctly. Reassemble the computer and power it up; check the keyboard to make sure that it has been reconnected properly.
Replace the video card by removing any covers or plates that hide the card. Remove the old card and install the new card in its place. Power up the computer to test the display.

Wireless driver has stoped working
Try pressing the Wireless button. You should see the wireless LED light up.
Some laptops have power-saving enabled on the wireless adapter, so ensure that the laptop is connected to the mains power.

have you changed admin password recently ? if yes and if you remember the old admin password, you should go ahead and restore the laptop to it's previous point when new password was not set.
restart the notebook and keep tapping f11 key until Recovery manager window appears.
under I need help immediately, select Microsoft System Restore
click next
in Vista, you will find System Restore under Advance option.

Presario f700 has a black
Sounds like it could be a couple of things, but what I would suggest you do first is when you power on your device, insert the Windows CD that came with your Laptop and boot from the CD as opposed to the HDD.
Once the drivers are loaded, it will give you several option on how to restore, fix or if necessary, reinstall the operating system from scratch.
It sounds like you BIOS info could have been corrupted and that could be why it goes through this start up cycle constantly. By bypassing the HDD, which could also be corrupt and booting from the Installation CD I mentioned above, this will allow you to gain access at least and have the options listed above in order to get you laptop up and running again.
If you require further assistance, please contact me.
