Where is the oil filter

The engine oil filter can be in a variety of places depending on the model and type. Sometimes they are direct on the lower engine block and sometimes fitted to an oil filter head which could be part of the oil pump housing or could be bolted direct to the cylinder block.

Some filters are horizontal and some hang down and some point upwards and are accessed from the top. Some filters are canister or spin-on types and some are replaceable paper elements in a removable and reusable metal or plastic bowl or container.

How do you get a stuck oil filter off when the oil filter wrench won't budge it?

Buy one of those filter socket type wrenches. It fits over the filter's end, you put a ratchet wrench in the center drive hole, and turn it to loosen it.
There are 3 or more types of oil filter removers. One should work, or the hillbilly method of driving a screwdriver through the filter and loosening it-done that a few times. You may get oil everywhere, but you sure can get the filter off. You may be surprised by how easily a screwdriver can be punched through a filter. Keep that screwdriver in your toolbox as your favorite oil filter remover-lol;.

Chevy oil filter stuck on

try a different type of oil filter wrench, the type that fits on the top of the oil filter, like a wrench that fits on a nut. Be sure the filter is really clean too, any oil on it can make the wrench slip. When you put it back on put a but of oil around the seal so it doesn't get stuck again.

Remove oil filter

Some oil filters require a ratcheting type filter remover. It fits over end of filter housing with a tight fit, and you use a 3/8 drive ratchet wrench or it's extension to fit into the square hole in the center of the filter tool to unscrew it.

Cannot remove oil filter toyota pickup

As a last resort, yeah, a screwdriver. What about a strap-type remover? Large channel-lock pliers? Make sure not to over-tighten new filter. Good luck.

What size or type tool use to remove cover of oil filter housing and do you have to remove oil filter housing FROM the engine? THIS IS A 1998 MERCEDE BENZ E320

no you don't have to remove the oil filter housing. Mercedes Benz has a tool that fits right over the oil filter cap that is inexpensive or you can just use a oil filter wrench. On the in-line 6 cylinder motor its a little harder to fit a filter wrench back there so a claw type filter wrench might be easier to use.The Mercedes filter tool can be found online also.

I'm a new owner of a 2003 Heritage softail

You will need either the HD oil filter wrench (HD-44067), which fits over the end of oil filter Harley-Davidson SuperPremium5 Oil Filter 63731-99A and allows you to remove filter with a ratchet and extension, or a strap type oil filter wrench purchased at an autoparts store. I use the strap type generic wrench. The HD wrench, actually a hex cap to fit over end of filter, would be a worthwhile investment. There is very very limited side access to filter on bike neccesitating one of these tools. Pan drain plug on same side, to front of pan at corner. Drain oil, remove filter, wipe off filter mount, fill new filter with fresh oil and install, pour in 5 quarts total using a flexible neck funnel, and your done. It takes 5 quarts total including what you use to fill new filter. SAE 20W50 or SAE 60 grade is appropriate for ambient temperatures above 80 deg to over 100 deg F. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH "O" RING !!!!!

Tranny:
This one is tricky get yourself a service manual. "O" rings are a pain man! train plug should be line up with dip stick.
