1988 Chevrolet Beretta. It suddenly lost power about 60 mph. No gas pedal at all decreased speed and about 20 mph it ran fine, runs good at dead stop.

I really need to know what size engine you have in your Beretta as well as how many gears are on the shifter as in low one low two Drive with a circle around it or one two three drive with a circle around it sounds to me like a torque converter pressure switch when vehicle is shifting into overdrive switch is not operating correctly releasing pressure from torque converter causing vehicle not to have enough counterweight for transmission until vehicle slows down and then will operate again shifting through gears until the Overdrive goes to kick in send more info

Will not shift gears(automatic)when getting on

No. the failure to shift gears is a transmission problem and will be associated with the TCM unit or servos/ sensors. Run fault codes to determine if electrical and have a pressure test done to determine if mechanical

1988 chevy beretta car will not pump fuel at fuel injector put in new injector but still does not pump

Skinnymin, you need to understand what and how injectors work. They do not pump, all they do is open from an electrical signal and let pressurized fuel spray out the bottom of the injector. Your beretta is either not getting the signal to the injectors to open them, or the fuel pump in your gas tank is not working to pressurize the line to the injector. In most cases, it is a faulty fuel; pump. Do yopu know if your pump is working? Here is a check: since the fan comes on with key, you may have difficulty hearing the pump, so have a helper. With the gas filler cap off, stand as close as you can get to the tank and listen for the pump to whirr on for about 2 or 3 seconds when the key is turned to on. It's supposed to turn on with key on to pressurize the lines, and if the car is not then turned to crank,. the pump will turn off until the car is cranked over-you can't hear the pump when the car is cranking or running, but you should hear the pump come on with keyt on for about 2 seconds. If you hear nothing from the tank., suspect a bad pump, or a wiring prtoblem with it not coming on. If you do hear the pump's whine( or whirr, or buzz), then pull off the electrical connector to the injector and check for power on one of the two wires in the connector with the key to on. One is a hot wire and is constant voltage with key on. The other wire is a ground for the injector. When the computer briefly grounds the injector wire ground, the injector is energized, raising a little pin on bottom of injector, for fuel to spray out. Understand it better now? So, check your fuel pump, if it is working, check the injector circuit. The fan circuit is a tricky little apparatus, too. Includes the electronic coolant temperature sensor -ECT sensor- ( the temp. sensor for the computer, not the one for your dash gauge), also a fan relay and the computer. The computer turns on the relay for the fans when the temp. sensor gets to a certain temperature. You may just have a faulty ECT sensor or a faulty relay. In most cases, it is a bad sensor.Good luck with your '88.

Remove oil filter

Some oil filters require a ratcheting type filter remover. It fits over end of filter housing with a tight fit, and you use a 3/8 drive ratchet wrench or it's extension to fit into the square hole in the center of the filter tool to unscrew it.
