same for all engines. (no engine stated, so no exact answers)
is your gas or diesel (ill guess gas)?
gasoline and not LPG or other fuels. real gas ,nor flex fuels on E100
cranks but no starts.
blown fuses, check fuses first, ( always #1 with EFI)
bad gas.,
the first check is spark , gas dont burn lacking SPark (mr,otto cycle)
watch funny guy SCOTTY. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=064Ilsz8Fzg&NR=1&feature=fvwp
any engine can run on test fuel, if it has spark (Otto)
some engines will never start
lost compreesion 1 or more cylinders
melted CAT converter, blocking exhaust
EgR stuck open, wide, if your unstated engine has one.
fuel pressure zero or 10psi. dead. must be at spec.
So it is turning the motor over but dont start ?. Make sure it has gas in it. Not by the gas guage it may be bad. Add 2 gallons of gas and cycle the ingnition seitch on till the dash lights come on and then wait 3 seconds. Do this 3-4 times to prime fuel up to engine and then try to start it. Remember you need fuel air and spark for a engine to run.
no you have to drop your gas tank clean it out. if you didn't start then just clean gas lines. if you started it then you need a new engine. the sugar gets in the engine and turns to syrup. bad engine.
posibly the gas pump brushes worn out.Try taping under the gas tank with a rubber malet while turning the engine over.If engine starts change the fuel pump .dont drive like this,it might not start a second time.
FIRST RELIEF FUEL PRESSURE BY REMOVING GAS CAP REMOVE FUEL PUMP RELAY START ENGINE UNTIL IT DIES LACK OF FUEL. FUEL FILTER IS MOUNTED TO THE RIGHT FRAME RAIL.NEAR THE FUEL TANK.YOU NEED A FLARE NUT WRENCH TO LOOSEN FUEL LINE AT FILTER AND A ADJUSTABLE WRENCH HOLD FILTER LARGE NUT WHILE LOOSEN FUEL LINE THIS KEEP FROM TWISTING FUEL LINES WHILE LOOSEN FUEL LINE.BESURE TO GO TO DEALERSHIP AND BUY NEW O - RINGS AT FUEL FILTER LINES.LUBRICATE NEW O- RINGS WITH CLEAN ENGINE OIL.WHEN INSTALLING NEW FUEL FILTER DONT OVER TIGHTEN FUEL LINES CUTTINGTHE O -RINGS AT FUEL FILTER.IF SO THEY WILL LEAK GAS WHEN YOU START UP ENGINE.WHEN DONE CHECK FOR GAS LEAKS WHEN DONE DONT DRIVE UNTIL YOU CHECK FOR LEAKS FIRST.
Does it have gas? just kidding. Even experienced mechanics forget that one. It may not be getting gas into the engine though. I use an old trick, disconnect the air box boot from the carb, cup the carb inlet with my hand, which is called a hand choke, and turn the engine over while hand choking. Your hand should get wet with gas. Remove your hand after a couple of seconds or so, it may start, or try. If not hit, pull the plug and lay it on a good ground on the engine, do not touch while cranking over the engine to check for spark. These are two of the basic requirements of an engine.
After a long drive, if AC is still on while turning off the engine, next time, it may create trouble while starting. The best way is to turn off engine and press gas padel for at least 10 minutes. Dont turn on the engine while pressing gas padel. Then try to start but dont press gas padel. Car should start if problem was due to unburned gas left inside cylinders..
