I recommend you turn it off, remove battery, and dry it out. Once it's dry, reinstall battery and see what happens....some have luck, some get new devices. Drying recommendations vary from pack it in uncooked rice ... to wrap it in a towel and put it in an oven on warm. All methods take hours.
After you have turned it over for a bit, take the spark plugs out and look them over. If they are wet and smell like gasoline, then you have a spark issue (coil, spark plug wires, etc). If the spark plug is dry and has a tannish brown color to it(although if you just replaced the plugs it will just look new and dry), then you have a gasoline issue in which you need to make sure fuel pump is working or plugged fuel filter if it has one or some other disruption in the fuel supply line. If you take them out, figure out which way they look and report back if you like and we can go from there.....
take the battery out immediately and put phone and battery for an hour or so then clean with a qtip and a little rub alchohol on qtip then put back together and try to turn on good luck
I would ignore the first posted answer and consider putting the ipod into DFU mode and doing a restore before cracking it open and replacing the battery. The previous answer has no logical explanation or remedy to fix it.
Depending on how "wet" it got, sometimes people have had luck with placing the ipod into a ziplock bag with dry white rice or silica gel bags (little bags that come in electronic packages to absorb moisture) it may take three to four days but it has worked for some. Never attempt to turn on a wet device until thoroughly dry first. Good luck to ya.
I had the same problem and fixed it rather easily, the problem is that the componants are wet and need to be dried, if you send it away your warrenty will be flaud as it is wet and all they will do to fix it is pull it apart and put it in a drying machine so i advise you to wrap it in a towel and place it somewhere warm like a hot water cubboard or directly in the sun, it needs to completly dry. you could try wrapping it in a towel and use a hairdryer on a low setting to dry out the componants, remeber to stop and let it air evey now and then or you will get condensation on your screen, hope this helps
I helped a friend with a similar problem using the solution below, so I am sure it will work unless your phone has shorted out:
Remove the battery from the phone immediately -- preferably right after it had gotten wet.
Spray the phone liberally through the keypad and inside the battery compartment with a good brand of electronic cleaner such as "CRC QD Electronic Cleaner Quick Drying Formula". It is important for the cleaner to get into the phone to wash out any water and mineral residues as they can cause a short when you put the batteries back into the phone.
Allow it to drain and dry, or better, blow dry it with hairdryer set on cold, or turn upside down on your dashboard for a few hours. Do NOT put the batteries back in the phone while it is drying.
When your phone is completely dry, put battery back in and turn it on. If it does not come on, put it on the charger. You should see the indicator come on showing "Charging".
After a few minutes to a half an hour, try turning your phone on. It should work if nothing has shorted.
well that means you have liquid damage and you have voided your warranty on your device. Your only option is to buy a new phone or take advantage of insurance if you have it!
