I have a 2006 Honda FR-V for which I need the service / workshop manual, can anybody provide it please or direct me where to get it without charge. I believe it is available somewhere, the online sharks seem determinded to ensure I pay. HEELLPPPP!

I can't find a free download on the internet, most are Owner's manuals or are not for the exact model you want - I don't know how similar similar models are. You might try the following:
