2005 Honda VT 1100 C Shadow Spirit Questions & Answers
2005 honda shadow arow overflows all the gas wile running its a 750
it can be very hard to correctly trace a gas leak.. Start with the petcock at the tank - make sure its not leaking, carefully move your way down towards the carbs..
If it is indeed the carbs - you will have to pull them and clean (possibly rebuild).. Either the floats are flooding / sinking and not blocking the incoming fuel, or dirt has stopped the needle from sealing properly, or you might have an external leak on the hoses / orings etc..
It might be your tank overflow - is the tank completely full when this happens?
HAD CARBURATER CLEANED ON A 2002 750 HONDA SHADOW
Your carb cleaning did not go well by the sounds of things. Your pilot circuit(s) are blocked I would guess. There a many small passages and it takes very little debris to really foul things up. Also consider your fuel supply and how it may relate to why your carb needed cleaning in the first place....was it a dirty tank / filter / line? If so your nice clean carb may be dirty again because of a contaminated fuel source, sometimes just the crud in the line between filter and carb will do it.Aside from that verify your pilot screws settings. Please communicate your progress or lack of it as many things are possible here. More info will help in assisting you.
How to remove the gas tank from a honda
Take off the nut at the back of the passenger seat and remove. Take off the two bolts at the back of the driver seat and lift off. Take off the bolt at the back of the tank, pull gas lines off petcock, and lift tank off bike gently pulling to rear of bike.
I have a 99 Honda
YOU CAN'T. SHAFT DRIVE HAS NO ADJUSTMENT. YOUR PROBLEMS COULD BE TIRE PSI, FORK OIL, SEALS. MOST COMMON I SEE IS LOW TIPE PRESSURES
What to look for as I remove the rear wheel. Shaft
Center
stand the bike or lift the rear wheel off the ground, loosen the rear axle nut, take out the axle bolt, knock out
the spacer, unscrew the rear brake adjuster nut, unbolt the rear brake panel stop arm, grab the wheel, and slide it
sideways away
from the final drive. The wheel should slide right off the spline of the
final drive and roll out the back under the fender. If the wheel won't
slide past the final drive let the air out of the tire. Be sure to coat
the spline of the final drive with moly60 paste from your local Honda
dealer when reassembling.

I have a 2005 Honda
Your Honda is designed to give you many , happy, trouble free miles. Honda's are known for there stock quiet. Your Honda will NEVER sound like a Harley. When you modify it , it will only sound like a lawn mower with a blown out muffler. If you still want to proceed , you can drill out the baffles if you have a drill bit that is a foot long. If you decide to modify your stock system you have to drill through several chambers of the baffles to relieve the back pressure. With this method if you are disappointed with the out come you can not put the stock muffler back on. Drill only one hole at a time and drive the bike for a day to see if you have achieved the desired affect. If you relieve too much back pressure and develop a flat spot in your acceleration you will have to put in new main jets or a jet kit with needles to restore your performance. You will also have to install a jet kit if you change the exhaust system. I do not have a recommendation for a system . If you go this route be sure the system you pick has a baffle that is adjustable or changeable so you can adjust the sound. Warning: all aftermarket systems will be louder than you want them to be and ear plugs may not be enough to help.
