Why does my 4 wheeler die when I let off the gas?

I have turned the idle up and it will stay running when idling but when I am riding and let off the gas it dies right away.

First thing i would look at is carb balance, these bikes are quite critical on balance,if the carbs are not balanced correctly it will do exactly as you describe, get hold of a set of vacuum gauges or take it to a good bike shop, they will have them,it is not expensive to get them done, but it will be if you dont,it is quite possible you will lean out one or two cylinders and melt a piston or something more sinister

Car won't stay running, starts up and then just dies off like it never had a Chance of staying idle.

Hi Johnny, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

Johnny, here's something I want you to try. I want you to start the engine while giving it a little gas, not much, just enough to see if it will idle. If it does Idle and stays running with your foot on the gas and dies when you remove your foot. Then go and buy an 'IDLE AIR CONTROL MOTOR" It mounts on the throttle body. Put that on, there are only two screws that holds it on, very easy to replace. After installing it the idle will be real high, this is normal, just wait it will stabilize and idle normal. NOTE: if it still dies even with your foot on the gas, then you have another issue but this is a good place to start. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair-website at: http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

1992 mercury grand marquise dies after letting off of the accelerator

Is this engine equipped with an EGR valve? Might have carbon deposits blocking the passageway causing the stalling problem.

Idles roughly, then low when stopped or in park, then dies. Decreasing gas mileage. Slow to accelerate

Sometimes that's caused by a vacuum leak near the manifold area.

Sometimes air in the coolant will cause an idle problem. Air will keep the air temp sensor from sending proper info.
Hope this helps.

Replace idle jet with a new one OEM is $5.00. If won't idle still the compression is so low that it won't stay running Or possibly the main seals are leaking (a 2 stroke has top end & bottom end compression.)

This is a 3 wheeler 125 m honda one cyl runs

Sounds like a loose piece of crud in the main jet. Have you had the jet and tube above it out? It could also be a spark problem. See if you have spark when it tries to die ( put a nail in the plug boot and get it sparking 1/4" or so to the plug at idle then rev it up, it should continue jumping. I think that bike will also have mechanical spark advance on the rotor on the end of the cam. If the springs are loose on that the spark timing will be all over the map and can make it run intermittantly.

High idling four wheeler

Sounds like it's getting air between the carby and the motor. Check the intake manifold is not leaking
