First question to you is.. Have you checked the wiring or ECU codes?
check the cooling fan switch on the back of the block, unplug the connector and jumper.
2 wires, turn ignition on and fan should come on...
if it does-----replace the cooling fan switch
if it doesnt----- go to the cooling fan relay on the pass side inner fender
panel behind the headlight and check it, besides the fan itself and the fuse, those are the only things in the system.

The electric motor can go bad like my Tbird has 2 times in 10 years.
Most Ford's have a Temp Switch and Temp Sending unit.
The Temp Switch tells the guage on dash the temp and the Temp Sending unit tells the computer how hot engine is and then kicks fan on (assuming all relays and fuses ok).

Located behind passenger headlight. Must cut small acess hole in plastic to acess.(directly behind where headlight mounts) Plastic cuts easily. Remove just enough to install new unit. It is blue and black in color with a plug in the bottom. Remove 2 mounting screws,Slide red connector lock back,and squeeze rear of connector to release.
Have you had the vehicle scanned yet? Can you turn on the fans by using a jumper wire at the electronic control near the headlight? The module is controlled by the engine computer in front of the battery. There could be a broken/corroded power or ground wire to the module or a broken/corroded control wire to the engine controller. Scanning the engine controller will help in the diagnosis if there is a code for the module control circuit. A test light an multi-meter will greatly aid in the diagnosis rather than just thowing parts at the vehicle.\

remove the cooling fan relay you should have power on the pink and black wire and the solid red wire going to the base for the relay if you do then check then turn the a/c on and check for your ground sigal from the darkgreen and white wire if no ground you have a bad fan control module located on the right side of the engine compartment

The main reason for the over heating of the audi tt is to do with the water pump. The propeller within the first type of water pumps is made of plastic. This was to prevent corrosion, however was never designed to last longer than 5 years. What you need to do is purchase the new style water pump. These new style water pumps have been designed with a metallic propellor which should resolve the overheating. Let us know how you get on.
