No guarantees but try this. Pull the slide from the throat of the carb. Now move the clip on the jet needle down one notch. This will richen the low end mix. Two notches may be needed but do one notch at the start.

My 1995 Kawasaki bayou 300 will not start it has a spark gas to the Carb and a new battery it cranks and cranks but will not start. How do I get it to start someone please help I wanna go riding..

Hi Abbott:
You've gotta be close. Let's double check.
- Pull the plug(s) and make sure they're not fouled and that there is a nice hor blue spark across the electrode.
- Fresh gas in the tank
- flush the carb (drain plug)
- Fuel filter if there is one.
- Clean the air filter.
Put it back together and give it a try. If it runs, great, if not, pull a spark plug and see if it is "wet" with gas. If not, the problem will probably be with gummy bad stuff in the carb. Take it off, and an air hose to try to blow out all the little passages.
Keep smiling, you'll be killing bugs in no time!

96 bayou 300 idles good when you give it gas fast it backfires and dies

Just a quick check, could there be air getting inbetween the carb and motor? Sometimes it could be leaning out? Just a thought?

Adjust idle

!. New spark plug
2. New or CLEAN air filter
3. CLEAN and properly set carb.
4. Air screw should be about 2 turns out AFTER lightly seating.
5. Adjust idle speed to your liking, but not too high.
6. Refinement is made with 1/4 turns of the air screw.

I have a 88' Kawasaki Bayou 300. It will start

buy a bottle of gasline anti-freeze. it will absorb any water in your fuel. add a half a bottle now and a half next time you fill the tank. should improve the operation of the engine

1997 220 bayou. doesn't pull like it use to, starts and idles, but doesn't seem to rev up like it should. had a spare cdi and it's not that. muffler is not stopped up. Carb seems clean. It just happened...

Have you chkd the timing.? The plate hat the oints mount on does move sometimes and the rub block on the points wear and changes the timing. That is if this bike has points.
