SOURCE: fuel stops flowig
and then the fuel will stop flowing thru the lines. i can see it stop thru my inilne filter. so i took the tank off and cleaned it out. check the petcock it's good and flows good. so now my only guess is a stuck float but i just went thru the carbs and check the float valve and the housing and it all looked good with lil to no ridges on the rubber points. anything else that could be causing it to stop flowing. Sounds like your fuel tank vent is plugged. Try riding until the bike dies. Open the tank. Do you hear a hissing noise as the tank opened? Close the tank and try to start the bike.,,
SOURCE: Bike acts as if running out of fuel.but has plenty of fuel
there may be moisture in your carbs if the bike has been idle over ths xmas

if all cylinders die at the same time should be fuel or electrical?
SOURCE: I am having running problems with my 2004 Yamaha
sounds like a partially plugged pilot or idle jet in the carb, either that or a vac leak. roadstars are known for intake leaks around the flange and make sure that the clamp at the back of the carb is fully tightend to the stop. roadstarclinic.com is a good source for information!

Something is wrong with the fuel supply. Since you have flow thru the return pipe it means that the problem is either in the pressure regulator or the injector .
To check them you will need to do 2 tests:
1 - to determine the location of the fault detach the fuel line from the injector, put it in a can and try to start the engine - if the fuel squirts with pressure then the regulator is good and you need to test the injector itself;
2 - connect the fuel line back to the injector, put a multimeter across the contacts and check the voltage when you try to start the engine - if it shows less than 6 volts you have an electrical problem (either a faulty wiring or a defective ECM); if it shows over 6 volts you have a clogged injector - the entire fuel system will have to be cleaned.
