Ignition seems to stop firing the spark plugs at

It could be an intake leak. Spray some water around the intake boots ( making sure you arent spraying it into the carb throat) and around the heads while the motor is idling. If the RPM drops with the spray of water you have an intake leak and where you are spraying the water with effect will help you identify what is leaking.

Spykes firstryke pressure release valve

Often compression releases are the only practical solution. IF you have not put the motor together yet....consider your cam choice. I run 10.5CR 103" 03 Road King with HTCC CNC ported heads and S&S 585G cams (4 degree advanced, thanks Bobby Woods). Okay so what? The 585G's timing is so different from the 570G's that the bike actually starts easier, I don't have to use my compression releases! Now I do not want to sound like a S&S commercial, however their newest line of cams takes of this for you. Give it some thought and please post you results.
Hope this helps,

JP

Engine turns over but after a few goes if it

First, I'd check the battery. Just because it's new doesn't necessarily mean anything. I've seen them bad right out of the box. Make sure you've at least 250 cold cranking amps in the battery.

Next, find out why the bike doesn't start on the first try. You said "after a few goes". You're using a might small battery to start a large engine. It can't turn in over forever. If you have a carburated engine, turn on fuel petcock, pull out the enricher, milk the throttle twice, turn on the ignition switch, press the starter button. Do Not open the throttle at all. If you do, you disable the enricher circuit. If this doesn't work, check to make sure your accellerator pump is working correctly.

If your bike is fuel injected, a trip to the deal is warranted. No user adjustable parts there.

Is the bike stock? If you bought the bike used, there's not telling what a previous owner may have done to it in the line of high performance work. You may want to run a compression test on the engine to determine if that cams or anything else has be replaced. If so, buy the biggest baddest battery you can squeeze into the bike. Harley's AGM battery is a good battery for a stock or relatively mildly modified bike.

Taken 2007 Dyna in twice in 2 weeks for excessive

Harleys sure do some shaking. I would guess it has an issue with an engine mount either loose or worn out. I would try another dealer if one is near you.

Engine has a tickn noise like the lifters are

Had the same issues when we upgraded from a shovel head to a newer bike. HD tried telling us, "it's a Harley. .." to which my responses was so..... it is ticking, one valve, brings your head right down into the bike, and sounds bad. Not 4 valves, 1.

Had HD replace all lifters, and pushrods, changed pushrods to adjustable ones, to try for another position (collapse of lifter...) Nothing worked, noise eventually came back...

We did all of the changes, and tweeks, the only solution was Velvet Touch lifters and lifer blocks. Pretty picey, but never heard another peep out of the valves....

Any wrenching tips for replacing solenoid starter

Disconnect the battery first thing, negative wire first. The starter on your bike is a Nippondenso type starter. The solenoid and starter motor are built together as a single unit. The solenoid part of the starter is the top part that is shaped like a pentagon. The motor itself is below that part and is round.

You will have to remove the outer primary cover to remove the jack shaft, the little gear that turns the outer clutch drum. When you remove the starter, there is a splined coupling inside that goes in the starter in a particular direction. The end with the bevel goes towards the starter. Make sure you take notice of this and mark it if you can't remember which way it goes in.

Other than this, changing the starter is pretty straight forward.

Add transmission fluid to 2001 Harley dyna low rider

the tranny plug is behind the oil spout its usually a big allen head bolt. You should use a quality oil like AMSOIL 20W50 motorcycle oil or AMSOIL gear oil. I have the 20W50 in mine and really like the benifit of not having a pultrolium product in my bike. You can get the AMSOIL online a http://hbsynlube.com/sales. You'll beglad you changed it.

2005 lowrider vibration problem numb hands and

Bring it over let me ride her for a few years and I'll fixit for a small fee.  That front mount may be worn enough to cause this. May be a timing thing, or a vacuume leak at one head, get some wd 40 and spray on the manifold when she is running, rev it up and spray it, if you have some leak this will make it show up. Then clean her up, get that junk off my engine before you bring it over.

Engine vibration at 1800-rpm and up 1340 evo 1994 dyna.

Hi .... This may sound daft but have you recently changed or had the exhaust off ? Have a look at the silencer/muffler rear mounts, difficult to explain but they should be in a 'neutral' position, not fully pushed in. Maybe the vibes are coming straight along the pipes from the engine and through the footpegs.
Let me know how you get on.

When bike gets worm it runs like ****

to me it seem more like a rich condition not a lean like you would get from a rubber or gasket before you buy the rubbers or gaskets i would pull the carb apart, take the slide out and look down where the needle goes into the jet see if the the hole is oval, also make sure the choke is not stuck open

Battery wount hold charge. speedometer

Hi ..... Charge the battery fully, take a reading (good battery 12.5 - 12.8) and start the bike, Place a multi meter across the battery, with the bike running it should show a reading of 13.2 - 14.2. If the system is charging then it's your battery .............. least time I've had out of one was exactly one year of use on a Harley, eight days out of the warranty period. If you leave the battery overnight then take a second reading in the morning, it'll tell you if it 'bleeds' overnight or at rest. If you've got extras like heated grips, radio etc, make up a simple test bulb with two leads, disconnect negative lead and place one lead onto negative lead and second onto frame. If bulb glows or illuminates when ignition is off you have something the wrong side of the ignition draining the battery.
Good Luck ! ............ let us know how you get on.

No power when I try to start bike, just a click…

Check the battery connections. Remove, clean and reinstall them. You probably had them off doing the wiring and they aren't making a good connection now. Always remove the negative first and install it last.
