you will find the thermostat located under the tank, be carful of a sending unit wire attached.
Gpz 1000 not cranking! what could it be?
Only a few reasons.. if engine not turning over at all its seized motor, it could be a bent valve and stopping the piston from completing its full stroke. or a piston rod. If engine turns over and not starting it could be fuel, electrical, or carbies jets, or valve timing.

Gpz 1000rx Engine dies on pull away.
my gpz 1000rx 1986 would start and rev fine but die on pull away, for weeks tried allsorts (carbs cleaned, plugs changed etc) Solution for me was WD40 the sidestand switch and tighten earth lead from battery where it bolts to engine block, now its fine. Hope this helps WAZZA
What is the best way to remove the carbs im new to
First remove cables and note where from. Throttle cable, throtle return cable and choke cable. Then loosen clips securing hoses to engine block , pull away hoses from air box then gently but firmly wiggle carbs out.
Oil leak left side through rubber plug on side of valve train
You need a new set of cam plugs. they fill the half moon holes necessary for the cam bearing journals to be align bored. You will also need a valve cover gasket. it would be a good time to checkhe valve clearance, but if you don't have tools or shims you would be lost.Sealer is also in order around the edges where there are sharp corners to assure a god seal between the rubber plugs and the new gasket.

i have a nokia phone from mexico but i want to use it here in the USA its a NOKIA WITH THE TELCEL LOGO IT OPENS EVERYTIME THE PHONE IS POWERED ON but when i insert my sim card from SIMPLE MOBILE it says invalid sim that means the phone is locked on TELCEL how do i come accross this . i just want to use it with simple mobile its the service provider i love using and its cheaper than any other GSM service in the USA

This sound like a fuel supply problem, perhaps the fuel tap is stuck. you could try it with the tap in the pri (prime) position, if this helps it may need a new fuel tap rebuild kit

86gpz, hmmmm probably has hydraulic valve lifters or tappets. probably one is not working, maybe a piece of dirt in the release valve. Probably not serious. May even go away suddenly.
Repair is extensive. Run it till it dies.
My motorcycle doesnt start ,
disconnect a positive wire going to one of the coils and put a paper clip in it,put it on metal and crank the bike to see if it sparks, we can then go on from there.

Yes, this could be the problem. With you turning the bike over on the starter a lot of demand is placed on the battery and it may simply be not supplying enough to the coils. Does it turn over slowly? First try fully charging the battery, and see if this solves the problem.

17 is correct Frank mesured from the base of the carburetor. Meaning the flat surface that the bowl bolts to, from the part of the float furthest away. With the needle just touching the seat.
If you have set this correctly and are not getting fuel the next thing to check is that the needle and seat are not binding with a bit of grit (rarely happens) or that there is a problem with the petcock or filter. If it is vacume operated try sucking the vacume tume and see if fuel runs out of the hose into a container at a decent flow rate. If not vacume operated check the flow into a container when the tap is turned on. lastly check the fuel line does not have a kink or collapse caused by inferior line type or sharp bend.

Just bought 86 gtr1000. 66000kms. I've taken it
First thing I would do is change spark plugs, then put plug back in plug wire, rest against head metal. crank your bike , watching for good blue spark jumping from end of plug to head metal .
If spark is blue, your good, put your battery on a slow charge 2amp and let charge for 2 hours
or more . Empty fuel tank by draining , replace fuel filters, and use new gas when refil. It may
be hard to start at first but let it warm up . If you need to 1/2 choke it ? Do it for a while . It will
come out of this bad spell after the new gas has taken over. You should be good to go. Ok
