Have you checked the alternator to make sure it is charging the battery and also for voltage drains when the car is off ? You would need to drive the car a few miles each week to keep the battery up. Otherwise if the car sits for several days and is driven only a mile or two, you may need to use a booster battery charger.
First step have the battery tested, a bad cell can cause a internal drain and kill the battery, if the batt is ok then check for interior lights like visors that stay on or interior light that come on by themselves at night due to defective door switches.
SOUND LIKE ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING BATTERY.CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE SHOULD BE 12.6 VOLTS.MAY SURE BATTERY CABLES CLEAN AND TIGHT.WITH ENGINE RUNNING CHECK ALTERNATOR OUT PUT AT BATTERY.SHOULD BE 13.5 - 14.5 VOLTS WITH ENGINE RUNNING.IF ALTERNATOR FUSE GOOD AND ALTERNATOR BATTERY FEED WIRE AND VOLTAGE REGULATOR WIRES OKAY NOT DAMAGED.DRIVE BELT NOT SLIPPING OR BELT TENSIONER NOT DAMAGED.ALTERNATOR MORE LIKELY FAULTY.TURN OFF RADIO FIRST.BEFORE REMOVING NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE TO KEEP FROM LOSING RADIO CODE.
check to see alternator charging battery.with engine running alternator out put at the battery should be 13.5 to 14.5 volts.check alternator drive belt, should be checked or changed at 60000 miles intervals.all drive belts should be checked at 60000 miles.if drive belt okay has correct tension have battery load tested it could be going bad.turn off radio first if you disconnect negative battery cable.reason i warn every body to do that so you wont lose radio playing code.
if your battery died while driving and the car cut off while your driving,, your problem is from your alternator!!!,, on a normal working car, you can start, remove ther battery terminals and the car would still run cause the alternator will be powering the car. In your case the alternator isnt working and the car was working on battery power therefore when the battery went dead the car cut off.. Your alternator need \s to be charging between 13.5 and 14.2 volts.. as little as 10 volts will keep the vehicle running.. I'd suggest you have the alternator replaced.
alternator gone bad, 100%. as the voltage starts dropping, all the lights on the dash will go crazy because the electronics cannot perform their self diagnostics, as they do not have sufficient voltage.
Check the voltage regulator if there's coming out of it. you may have a good alternator but if nothing goes at the alternator, then, it results to a drained battery. Just replace your regulator, if this is not working.
