The Thermastat has nothing to do with your AC becoming on at all because the Thermastat has to do with radiator fluids going into the engine to keep its high temperatures in check not your AC. You need to check the connection of the switch with a multimeter to see if current is getting to it and it is not then check the fuse for your AC in fuse box so see if this fuse is blowned. If the fuse is blowned tells me that there is a short in the wiring to the AC switch.

Where are cooling relays?

Hello. Your car's cooling fan relays are somewhere in the fusebox/relay box. Also, your car has a 'fan switch' on the thermostat housing. If the 'fan switch' is in operable, the cooling fans won't work. It can be the thermostat housing seal/gasket. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

Trouble with ac on a 2008 pet cruiser turbo. Please read carefully. Ac works fine first time it is used for the day after that not working. Checked the low pressure and charge and both are good.

Check out your thermostat - it is wired in series with low pressure switch and if is open clutch will not activate and the compressor will not run.

Would a closed thermostat stop the radiator fan from turning on when the temperature is within heat range.it turns on when I turn ac on,is that a different cause when not using ac.

There are two different thermostats--one in the cooling system, and one just to turn on fans. The AC has a separate circuit to turn on fans regardless of engine temp, so tind the the fan thermostat and test it.

2007 chrysler pt cruiser cooling fan does not work with ac

If refrigerant is low , high side pressure may not be high enough to engage the pressure switch to kick on the fans. Have the a/c system evac'd and recharged to capacity then recheck fan operation. Also, extreme cold weather can reduce high side pressure on a fully charged system preventing fans from coming on.

check radiator fan. it may seem to work but they tend to blow but not as fast they should. one way is to remove it and connect it to a 12 volt source. it should try to lift off the ground or houver. if not that check thermostat and relay to fan. also always remember to replace thermostat they are cheap. and it never hurts to replace it. mian thing is to check fan and see if is blowing with as fast as it should. radiator shops can do this for you . you may want to remove the fan and take it yourself to save money

Engine overheating when AC is on, Water Pump is working, Thermostat is working, Coolant is Good, Burning Smell when AC is turned on for a short moment but not a belt burning Only overheats when sitting...

Your thermostat might be sticking which rarely happens. You should also check your fan and belts from the fan. Located behind the radiator. Hope this helps!!

I have a kia sephia 1998 and it keep overheating . I changed the thermostat and raiadotor And found out it was my fan. How do I test to see what part of the fan is not working?

One way to tell if the fan works is by turning on the AC, when you do this the fan should turn on.
If the fan works when the AC is on you may have a bad temp sensor, relay, fuse or wiring problem.
If the fan doesn't work with the AC then you would replace the whole fan unit as an assembly.
If your car doesn't have AC then you should just take it to a shop.
