You may want to consider changing the PCV valve. It could be clogged and that can cause the vehicle to idle rough or even stall.

It's a more economical fix to try, and probably is overdue anyway.

Best regards

1997 Isuzu rodeo still will not start. I replaced the fuel filter, pump, and strainer and now the gas is getting through. I checked the plugs and cleaned them. They have a spark but, still did not help. ...

Try changing the Idle Air Control Valve. It is a small device located on the throttle body, mounted to it with two screws. You can purchase one at Autozone.

My Rodeo had a similar problem and that unit fixed it.

High idle problem

HIGH IDLE COULD BE ACCELERATOR CABLE BINDING PULLING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL OR YOU HAVE VACUUM LEAK AT THROTTLE BODY GASKET.WHERE GASKET COULD CRACK SPLIT APART THROTTLE MOUNTING BOLTS LOOSE OR YOU COULD HAVE FAULTY IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE.IN WHICH IT WILL CAUSE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO FLASH.

How do I adjust the idle it dies at a stop lite

If it dies, most likely you have a bad idle speed control motor, or a big vacuum leak.

Dies at Idle and decelration - won't start for 15

Hello. I bet your problem is one of these two things. 1: your timing is out. Making it run at such a low idle that it stalls itself out. 2: your truck is running too rich and flooding itself out. Just adjust theb timing a bit and lean the motor out a bit and you should be as good as new! Hope this helps!

2000 isuzu 3.2 rodeo

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle rough idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve (IAC for short), they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
