1992 Isuzu Rodeo Distributor wires 3.1L engine

Hi,
Isuzu seem to have complicated things by changing engines, firing orders and even direction of rotation! As you can see, they've numbered the cylinders the other way than the 3.2L.

The Firing sequence for the 3.1 (traditional distributor) 6 cylinder is as follows -

d6e5b2a.jpg

If you take the distributor cap off, there should be a "No.1" formed on the inside. Stick a lead on this before you put the cap back on and go from there.
As leads are different lengths, you may have to swap a few to find the best fit.

I think 2 of them will look out of place - but that's the way it's designed. Just make use of clips for holding them neatly.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Timing issue with LT1 engine

Sounds as if your 180 out with your distributor. Bring #1 cylinder to TDC and see if the rotor is pointing at the correct plug on the cap. If it is not, then your timing is off.

Im changing a wheel bearing on 92 isuzu rodeo with c locks on the axle. i took the differential back plate of and drained the fluid. i went to take the pinion shaft lock bolt off and i broke the bolt

Try a small tap style extractor you can buy at most tool suppliers and some auto parts stores. Lube that sucker good and long first before you drill it; and use heat to help further loosen the bolt piece if you have any trouble at all. Torch or heat gun. Clean any oil thoroughly and have an extinguisher handy anytime you use open flame on a vehicle. God forbid you break a hardened extractor off in the bolt. They do not drill out.

1992 Isuzu rodeo 3.1 no spark I have change almost everything that I can think of except for my ecm relay could this be at fault ?

1992 no spark on all 6 cylinders.ok, did you first look at the schematic on ECU and SparK>?lets do that and see. now.spark systems are vastly changed, from 1990 to 2000evolutionary, that means I must look up what's there first.lets tick them off.1: fuses good, means test them if they L**k good.there are 6 fuse here , for this to work. 2 for ECU relay.2: head lamps work (bright, ok battery seems strong) and cranks.3:key on , cluster glows, and all those warning lamps, but but the CEL it must glow, or the ECU has no power, the ecu fires the coil via an Ignitor so ECU must have power and CEL glowsCheck engine light.if that work the engage the diag jumper wire clipthis enables flash diagnostic codes. then crank for 5seconds, if you get the code for dead CKP bingo.how do to that is here.http://www.troublecodes.net/isuzu/now your relay question?key on, all wires on the relay go hot 12vdc.but the black wire (its ground)the 2 green wires on relay must be 12vdc, output to ecu. the inputs are fused x2to test a so called good looking fuse.we use 2 methods, ill show 1.ohms. with your DMM set to Rx1 range (lowest)measure he fuse. 0 ohms good, infinity bad.we use volts on key on car, 12vdc both sides of fuse.there are some rare exception on that, (fused grounds)but not this car.the fuse related are hot all time, or hot keyon.

Tail lights are dim have changed the dash switch and dont know whats wrong with it

Check the ground wires to rear tail lights. It may be a loose or a bad ground. Try this, Connect a wire of the same size as tail lights. From tail light to a good ground, any metal surface. You can splice into ground wire if necessary. God-Bless! This may be the cause.
