4 wheel drive lights are blinking

First check your fuses if you haven't already, the ones under the dash and the ones under the hood, Second check your transmission fluid, most of the time when the fluid gets low it will cause this light to blink!

On a 1997 ford expedition, how do you change from 2wd to 4wd?

If you can't find the 4 X 4 switch, then your expedition is probably All Wheel Drive and it will not have an on or off. If it is "all wheel drive" it is like it is in four wheel drive all the time and will kick in when it feels a wheel slip. Check your owner's manual and you will probably find that it is all wheel drive. Hope this helps.

Wont disengage out of 4 wheel drive 1998 ford ranger first time its stuck in 4 low we have backed up turned switch numerous times shut it off and restarted

Be sure to put the truck in neutral, while engine is running, while you disengage from 4 wheel drive (low) to 4 wheel drive (high) and then finally to 2 wheel drive. It is critical to shift transmission into neutral when switching out of 4WD Low, as indicated in your owner's manual. Hopefully, this will help to FixYa problem!

When you start the car the 4 wheel high and 4 wheel low indicators light and flash four times,

To make the lights stop blinking and actually engage the transfer case you have to maintain the electric motor that engauges the transfer case. the contact points inside get worn and corroded and wont allow enough power through to rotate the servo. The motor is located on the transfer case and is held of by 3 bolts, remove and unplug. Any good 4-wheel drive shop can fix it for you for about $50 or you can take it apart and clean the contact points inside and relubricate it yourself in about 15 minutes. reinstall and your 4 wheel drive will stop flashing and actually work.

I have a 2002 ford expedition and it slips into 4 wheel drive every now and then. It happened in July and then again tonight?

the electronics is malfunctioning for the 4 wheel drive. if the button is sticking in-between 2-4 wheel drive it could cause this problem. have fluid in the transfer case checked because if that is low it could also cause it.
