dear sir the location of your jeep's fuse-box is under the hood open it and there you'll find a black kind of box i am attaching the picture

you must have a spare fuse check now 36 as i described in the picture. its for AC
Replace and check the air conditioner

sounds like system is low on freon,? safety switch turns system off when too low on freon to prevent burning itself (the compressor) up...

Probably need the coolant recharged, take it to a shop that does AC, have them check for leaky seals when they recharge the system.

2000 jeep grand cherokee air conditioning

sounds like the clutch field on or bearing on the front of the compressor went bad take a closer look at the pulley on the comp. and see if there is any debris or melted plastic coming out behind the pulley,if so the clutch,field and bearing should be replaced,hope this helps
