This vehicle needs to be taken to the dealers for re-programming of the factory immobilisor ,you have fitted a new ECU unit (computer) well these are programmed via the chip in the key and the software is encrypted so dealer only job ,or a good auto locksmith might be abl?e to do it for you

Jeep fires but wont start

What is the year and model ?
You can use a jumper wire to bypass the fuel pump relay to see if it is loosing power or a ground signal from the computer.
The engine has to produce oil pressure for the fuel pump to keep pumping after it starts.
Are you loosing fuel pressure or spark ?

Mechanic told us problem was fuel pump in 2002 chevy silverado, we replaced the pump but seem to have air in lines...have tried and tried but can't get it to start??

try some starting fluid, see if it will fire, if it will then yes theres a problem in the fuel lines inspect the lines all the way back to the tank also check and see if its not a cloged fuel filter, if you spray starting fluid and it wont fire up then check your ignition system spark plugs wires ect.

New battery, new alternator, still wont start

    • 1 Ensure that your battery cables are properly connected to the battery.
    • 2 Start your car.
    • 3 Let the car run for around half an hour. Most cars idle fast enough that the alternator will be able to charge a battery while sitting at idle.
    • 4 Turn off your engine and test your electrical systems. If they work properly, your battery has been charged. If they do not work, or are sporadic, turn your car back on and drive around for another half hour. After the drive, your car's battery should be sufficiently charged.

Well i got all my spark plig wires on the distrubutor cap in the right firing order but it will turn over but not start

First you have to determine weather you have a FUEL problem or (ELECTRICAL)Spark problem ??

Pull the coil wire off or a easy to get to spark plug wire, Lay it close to were you pulled it off of (Do not hold or touch you may get SHOCKED) and crank motor (need two people) look and listen for a spark, if you see or here a spark, then go to next step which will be to check for Fuel (gas). Be very careful when checking fuel, as most lines are under pressure and may cause bodily harm such as BURNS to EYES and SKIN!! Loosen or pull the inlet fuel line off and put rag over line. Some fuel injected vehicles have a fuel rail the has a valve that looks like a tire valve. Put a rag over this valve and push it in with a small screw driver and have someone crank motor a couple of times to see if fuel is coming out.

If NO Spark---Could be a lot of things Points (older vehicles) Modules, Coils, Crank Sensors, ECT......

If NO Fuel---- Could be Clogged fuel filter, Fuel Pump, Fuel pump Relay, Fuse, ECT..........

Hope this helps you ??

The engine crank but it wont start, when we are traveling the vehicle lose its power. we check the fuel pump and it dose not work, still wont start

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. I am assuming the fuel pump works. If it doesn't, check the pump, fuses, and relay. Check your fuel pump button if you have one. This vehicle is new so you may have an electrical issue. Is the check engine light on? If so, you need to have the computer scanned. Many things can cause the engine to not start. If could be fuel related. Check your fuel pressure to make sure it is normal. If it is not, check your fuel filter, lines, and injectors. It may be the ignition system, such as plugs/coils, wires, distributor, coil packs, distributor cap. You need fuel, fire, and air to start the car. I don't know how many miles you have, but if it is up there, you need to check the plugs, coils, ect. I need to know miles, if your check engine light is on. It could be the starter, starter solenoid, or ignition module. Post back so I can help you. Thanks.
