This trouble code means your system is running to lean on bank 2, Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 2 detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 2 is generally the side of the engine that doesn't have cylinder #1. You will more than likely not notice any drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a lack of power, detonation (spark knock), and/or a hesitation/surge on acceleration

check for a dirty fuel filter an proper fuel pressure inspect vacumm an pcv hoses for leaks an replace if needed also simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick aswell, but make sure you dont damage it an make sure its dry when reinstalling

PO171 & PO174 are codes for fuel too lean. So is the clattering valves when you step on it. Sounds like you got some bad gas. Try filling up with a high octane gas and add a gas treatment for Ethanol which will help get some water out of the system. Good Luck

My 97 intrepid will start up, but putter out within seconds

Map Sensor or Crank Sensor. If you have a code reader the map sensor should throw a code, the crank sensor most often will not. Both will cause the car to start, idle to around 1,000 R's and then die.

2001 audi allroad puttering, then dying when give it gas.

Sounds like dirt made it's way to the fuel pick up from sitting on an angle. You can try removing the sender through the rear seat to detect a clog and or the fuel filter underneath. Honestly..... have it towed to reputable repair shop or dealer for evaluation.

We have the same problem we changed the fuel pump and it fix the problem for about a week, the van started puttering and didn't start until the 20th try. Now we are looking at the fuel filter. What a way to spend the 4th.

Car wont start

It is very bad to let your car run out of gas. You may need to give it exessive amount of gas when starting it.

My car sometimes wont start and when it does it cuts out and dies

Put a voltmeter on battery. It should say something like 12 volts. Start motor and see if you have about 14.5 volts while running. If not your charging system has failed.

Vehicle will not run when put in gear and give it gas, idles fine. gives trouble codes P0171 & P0174.

Tose are lean codes the 02 sensors are seeing a lean condition and likely its the mass air flow sensor or the intake hose to the engine is loose or cut.
